I feel really retarded for making an invasion map and then being finished one week later.
:'(
It doesn't matter if you make a map in 3 days, 3 weeks, or 3 months. As long as you have a plan and you stick to it you'll be fine.
The ODST map requires attention to every single detail, from line of sight and elevation to weapon balance, killzones, budget, performance, splitscreen support, coloring, phase direction, vehicle combat--I could go on forever explaining all the problems I ran into while building it.
Simply put, it's too difficult to work on alone which is why I will be collaborating with other Invasion forgers to get it finished.
In the mean time, I'm doing exactly what that poster said--finishing an Invasion map. I've chosen one that's much simpler (but still complex) and it'll take a much shorter development timeframe to finish. I'm also working with another forger who's played tons of the Invasion playlist, so he knows what's up.
Nobody is as frustrated as me when it comes to finishing these maps. I don't ever plan to be working on them for months but I also don't want to be finished in 2 days either. I have a plan for this CE Forerunner map and it's going to be much easier to build than the ODST one.
Just hang in there. Invasion forgers from all over are trying to build maps for Matchmaking and we are doing our best. It's insanely difficult though.
