We're used to the idea of having a silent protagonist, making the player feel more like the protagonist themselves and giving the player freedom to feel as though they're the one kicking ass across the universe rather than someone else.

Talkative protagonists have more of a personality and express more emotion. They also have room for more backstories and interesting interaction with other characters. While the characters aren't as mysterious, some players become more attached to the Protagonist this way.

So which would you have preferred in Reach?
A silent protagonist or talkative protagonist?

Discuss.

A talkative protagonist. I want to know my character better. With Halo 1-3 we had alot of time to know the chief, but with Six we don't have much of time at all.

Speak for yourself.

Anyway, I enjoy talkative ones because they usually actually have character.
