Kick start a craze

Granted, I'm only half way through Glasslands at the moment but so far I have to say it's up there as one of my favorites. I was nervous going into it just because with the war over I was unsure about how it would play out but I think Traviss has done a fantastic job painting a post-war picture. I find myself thoroughly enjoying the trading and back stabbing going on between all the species.
The characters are great as well, especially BB. Whenever he has dialogue I find myself thinking of him as more of a person than an AI, which is clearly what she was going for when she wrote it.
So basically I was just wondering where the rest of you stand on the book. Do you love it or hate it?

Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

I really like it so far, Traviss wrote the Republic Commando series well and this book is great too. I just don't like the Forerunner tech in Human ships and the whole SIV project along with more random Spartans like Naomi.

They weren't random. Remember that not every Spartan was named. All we know about her is that she was a washout and then was rehabilitated.

There were 33 Spartans originally and now there are more.

Yes 33 successful Spartans. There were 75 candidates, and half of them washed out. Some were rehabilitated by ONI. Naomi is an example.

Naomi was not rehabilitated by ONI, she's a normal Spartan.

Once again, now there are more than 33.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Osman? She was definitely rehabilitated by ONI.

Ok. Well I got the book on my Kindle and the Kindle doesn't use page numbers so it's hard to find stuff. But from what I could find, it would appear you are right for now.

I know she was, and I could swear Naomi was too. Well, this doesn't make sense. How did Naomi get off Reach?

Well TFoR does say some Spartans were too far away to be recalled. Everyone assumes that it referred to gray team in Cole Protocol but there's nothing that says definitively that Naomi couldn't have been on a solo mission during Reach.

Not to mention there still is the fact of how Aegis Fate escaped Reach.

The number of Spartan IIs has never been constant, the numbers started getting fudged up very quickly after TFoR came out. And now we have some answers to why the numbers are not exact, ONI and Halsey invested a great deal of effort in rehabilitating and fielding the maimed washouts who could be successfully restored, and reviving the dead ones that they could rehabilitate successfully. For all we know they could have eventually induced full recovery in almost all of the washouts.
