It is evident that if you play in a team, you will, more than likely, have more fun in your games. Why? Because you have support when you have 3 or more people shooting in the same direction.
I am one of the gamers that these forums have labeled a bad player because:
1. My K/D doesn't have a 2 at the beginning
2. My ToD is the Gravity Hammer (more on that in a minute)
3. My Win/Loss is about .55
4. I don't have (a lot of) friends that play this game

Now, the #1 response I read whenever I see a similar thread is "Why do you search alone?" See #4. Apparently Reach is only for people who enjoy to play full parties. That is bull-blam!-. See, I figure its about 50/50 when it comes to randoms/teams of 2 or more.
Reach is a year old. I love Halo. My friends like other games or have moved onto other things. Hence why I search alone. Onto #1...

I'd love to find ANYONE with a "GOOD" K/D (1.75 or higher) that plays solo and has a Win/Loss of more than 70% that does MORE than Rumble Pit. I can't remember her name but she was a REALLY high rank and she had one of the most amazing Rumble Pit records I have ever seen. ANYWAY...
I have done okay in BTB doing Lone Wolf. USUALLY whenever there is a BTB game I am in that has nothing but randoms there are some decent players that know how to handle themselves and can drive a vehicle well. Squad Slayer is good, too. There are enough people to balance out if you happen to get some players with...dismal skills.
Teams of FOUR, however, I have found it hard to make up for a single bad player. Generally, in most of my games, if there is a single good player on the other team, the other players can build off of that. I scratch my head when I'm the best player on my team and I am on a random team...and the other teams still manages to win.
Now, there are exceptions, though. I've looked up game history after I played a game and am flabbergasted to find a "GOOD" K/D player and they did HORRIBLE. Before you say LOLGRIFBALL (this is the best example...GREAT players with DMRs, Snipers, NRs, bad with the hammer...how's that possible?) I've played games when I gone +20 against far superior (statwise) players. Did I just get lucky?

Now, W/L...I'll wager (on what I've seen on various randoms) that most randoms have a W/L between 40-60%. TEAM players that play most of their games (4 out of 5) with teams of 3 or more, win 75% or more of their games. And, as a result, their K/Ds are better for it. If you are able to call out your shots instead of everyone being muted (on the rare occasion that I forget to mute my mic after I play with teams, I never hear ANYONE), your chances of coordinating a barrage is going to fly out the window.

My ToD is the Grav Hammer. Why? Because Grifball is a fast paced games where even full teams can only make ONE mistake and the ball carrier can score. Teamwork is paramount...IF YOU'RE IN A FULL PARTY. Grifball, believe it or not, is usually fun with nothing but randoms. There's an air of a FFA melee fest with a slight urgency to get the ball and score. Usually, if I try to go and score quick and encounter opposition, I wait for my team to push ahead...and they usually die immediately...whereas if I take my time, wait for some other people to run the ball close, die repeatedly, and after killing a bunch of opponents, I can run in, pick the scraps, pick up the ball for about two seconds and score.

How could 343 alleviate this constant problem of randoms going up against large parties? A Single Player Max Party Playlist. It would consist of SOME Rumble Pit objective style game types as well as team slayer with some team objective game types...I think 1 FFA option and 2 Team options per matchmaking voting screen.

TL/DR: See title.
