Subject: What brought you into the Halo universe?

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

When I started playing Halo CE back in 2002, I was instantly hooked. The campaign was what originally pulled me in since my opportunities to play multiplayer were few and far between. Then I started getting involved in epic LAN parties in college. Great times! And that trend has followed me all the way to Reach with the addition of Firefight mode.

All in all, it's always been the story and the gameplay for me. But what got you hooked? Why are you still here?

Halo:CE for sure, right from launch. I knew it was the game for me, apart from poker.

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

RvB got me to discover halo PC trial in 2005. That led to halo PC in 2006 then halo proper in 2008

Who's got AIDS?

My dad got an original xbox from a friend at work and it had Halo 2 with it. I played that game so much that I remember most of the dialogue in every cutscene (I never got to play it online; didn't have internet). This was back in '07. After Halo 2, I wanted to see how the first one was so I got that one. Christmas time 2009 my dad got me an xbox 360 with Halo 3 (I didn't have a job). The next day I bought ODST and I got Reach on its midnight release.

CE sucked me in and never let go. I'll be a fan of the Halo Universe for the rest of my life.

Halo is to me what Star Trek is to Sheldon (if you watch Big Bang Theory you'll get that).

Playing Halo CE back in 2001 with a friend. I had no idea what an "Xbox" was, so he invited me over. Little did I know we were playing CE Campaign for hours on end and split screen multiplayer.

I was hooked ever since :)

Ha! It was the same with me and my brother. Never even touched an Xbox prior :)

Went on vacation to visit my relatives for a few weeks and my cousins had it. Played the full campain and eventually bought an xbox later that year just for halo.

As for the multiplayer i never liked, mainly becuse of counterstrike. Still had more fun with counterstrike then probubly any multiplayer shooter out there.

Bow Chick Bow-wow

CE was what got me. My older cousin was the first to get an XBOX and we would split screen 4 ways. Good times.

I seriously doubt that anyone that was at the CE launch 10 years ago is posting on Bungie.net after all of those years. Most of you thought that CE had 1-50.

OT: Split screen with my friend in CE, back in '09.

My dad got original xbox and I played Halo: CE with him. Don't remember much now but I loved it, I played Halo 2 lots with friends from school and Halo 3 was a whole new social experience. I played games in their thousands it was so gripping. The rest is history basically :)

Halo 3.

Halo CE, sometime back in 2002. It came bundled with the Xbox I bought, along with a racing game called Midtown Madness. I was blown away because I had never played a first person shooter before, and the graphics power of the xbox was amazing to me after only having a Playstation 1.

  • 11.05.2011 10:29 AM PDT

My cousin got Halo CE when the xbox launched and we spent every moment we could playing through that amazing campaign. Halo is the only FPS that doesn't get stale after a few months for me.

Played Halo 2 with a friend about a year after it came out. I still remember playing through the first level in split-screen.
