Subject: Something I realized when I play Halo: CE

Black Water Ops representative.
See you on the battlefield.

Strangely enough, the Flood are a lot less intimidating when you have a shotgun.

Until you start getting low on ammo that is....

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Yeah, I remember the first time I played Halo CE, I was terrified of the Flood. I just simply couldint beat 343.

I ended up power horsing through the level, screaming like a maniac and shooting the shotgun at anything that even twitched.

Of course, nowadays it dosent have that effect on me since I'm almost 10 years old now, but I still get nervous sometimes when on Legendary, and I know the Flood are around. I'm sure CEA will still have that effect. Or I at least hope...

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

I don't understand why people find Keyes so scary. 343GS is what scared the crap out of me first, second, third, fourth, fi- well every time. I remember the first time I was dropped off by Foehammer into that awful swamp. Once the blood started getting on the walls, I knew that something horrible was going to leap out at me from behind one of the doors. Then I entered the room with human blood everywhere. Unfortunately, I skipped the helmet cutscene, so I had NO idea what I was about to fight, all I heard was banging on the doors and the sound of me soiling myself.

After that, it was mainly me freaking out shooting everything that moved while trying in vain to find a way out. Keyes wasn't that bad, just Flood and Covenant. The Library was only scary because of the fact you could only see like 10 feet ahead of you. Had they added some dead covies or marines, then it would be comparable to 343GS.

Can't be too careful with your company. I can feel the devil walking next to me.

I've always thought Halo 2 Flood with Rockets were worse.

My favorite is still Two Betrayals, but there's always that one Flood form with a rocket. Ever since I first played it I cursed whoever decided to give the Flood rockets.

Hahaha, well... happy 10th birthday. ;)

Anyway. Yeah.. Legendary is the only time I get 'paranoid' about the Flood. Not sure if Halo CEA will have that same feeling though, I mean, everything is considerably brighter.

It will be even scarier...im sure they will reposition the flood in corners so it would be "unexpected" and we have a deadspaced halo.

Well, the rockets in H2 were considerably faster, but no, the Flood with rockets in Halo CE were just impossible to survive if it got shot. There was no dodging those rockets... and the blast radius was stupidly big.

Lulz, I meant 10 years ago. I'm actually almost 18 now.

I dont think it was the whole brightness of the scenery, but rather the noise of the Flood and the fact that we were always overrun with them, with dozens on screen and potentially dozens more coming out of any said corner. Two Betrayals and The Maw were not dark levels, but the Flood still give you that paranoid feeling. I guess it was just age, and most of us had never experienced something like that. I sure as hell never had, and I was so terrorized, I actually turned off the Xbox once.

Life is not a journey to the grave, with the intension of arriving safely.

Op: I know what you mean. The entire game feels fairly tense. Its not fear, Just less comfortable than the following games. Ill be interested to see if anniversary captures it in the same way.
