I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Uh . . . All I can say is that finally there is something that is not about Halo.

Also please explain what the point of this topic is.

To find out why people can enjoy a game so much, I am using marathon because there are so many different scenarios that all are related but different none the less and their communities are all very dedicated.

Durundal is the only one I've finished because of the XBL version. The others are works in progress.

For Carnage Apply Within - We played Marathon before Marathon was cool!

Keep it authentic...

Marathon 1.

"Do not mistake your rank and number for superiority. The oldest child may learn from the youngest."

Of Bungie's trilogy, I actually enjoy M2 the most. It's qaulity action-adventure from start to end.

Still, my favorite scenario probably has to be to Tempus Irae. Superb map making (seriously, it's beautiful, well done, and make use of lots of intelligent uses/abuses of the Forge design tool) and a fun story make for one hell of an experience. If you haven't played it, do yourself a favor and download it now.

RED is neat scenario too, though it does get rather difficult in places and the story lacks in several areas. Not to shabby for having been all created by one guy though; really amazing Ian McConville (of MacHall and ThreePanelSoul) managed to do it all on his lonesome. Worth it if you have the time (then again, all of the listed scenarios are).

I'm LITERALLY better than Tim Tebow

Better than Tebow.

San Francisco 49ers
XVI - XIX - XXIII - XXIV - XXIX

Infinity is the best out of the trilogy while Rubicon is the best out of the fan made.

Red is worst because of that glitch on that one level.

I was unaware 'Marathon' and 'best' could be in the same statement.

Other than "Marathon is not the best."

Opinions, opinions.

No one cares about your opinion on Marathon Happy.

Deciding which Marathon scenario is the "best" is extremely subjective. It is difficult for me to choose my favorite between Marathon 1, 2, and Infinity because the sum of the three games is greater than the individual contributions of each. If I had to choose one of the 3 originals, I'd choose Marathon 1.

My favorite third party scenario is Marathon Eternal, though I've only played Eternal and Rubicon.

"That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what.

Now try how and why."

In terms of pacing, story, and atmosphere, the first Marathon. It's not something that Bungie has ever been able to replicate.

Rubicon has the coolest name by far.

"Apparently people don't like the truth, but I do like it; I like it because it upsets a lot of people. If you show them enough times that their arguments are bull-blam!-, then maybe just once, one of them will say, 'Oh! Wait a minute I was wrong.' I live for that happening. Rare, I assure you."-Lemmy of Motorhead

i belive shhave funzes suppos

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

If you want an amazing story with unique level design and some new enemies and weapons, play Eternal, it's also VERY long, so you'll be playing it a lot.

Rubicon is good but I personally didn't like the levels.

Red is...meh. ONly get it if you really want a challenge (consecutive no oxygen levels, how fun)

BOB-B-Q!
If only they brought back Marathon and Pathways into Darkness...

I enjoyed the first Marathon the most, but I'm stuck on G4 sunbathing, and I can't seem to get by it. I am currently working on Rubicon, which feels like Duke Nukem 3D (*readies flamesuit*).
I don't like Infinity much, and Durandal is good, but it doesn't stand out as much as the first Marathon. And does MPiD count as a scenario? Because it's actually quite enjoyable.
