The Halo series was my first and favorite FPS series.
I enjoy most games throughout all systems despite what some people say.

Oh, and on the forums, I tell it like it is, like it or not.

People can do whatever they want (within the limits of the rules), so I just leave it alone and answer straight.

But it's spam. Which is against the rules.

A tad extreme, in my opinion.

Also; if a bungie employee can post a picture to derail a thread, i'm allowed to inb4.

I don't let that sort of trivial stuff bother me.

Seems like a personal thing... its never bothered me tbh.

It does get pretty childish when they have a list of like 7 or 8 inB4s. The best we can do though is shun such people for their sillyness.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I think people take inb4 and OP way too seriously.

As long as it isn't just INB4 and OP, you should be fine.

But the thread shouldn't be locked becuase of a few people.

Rev.6-8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Doesn't bother me, I think its funny sometimes.

I think Exquisite is suggesting that the thread should be locked because the OP has a large list of INB4 Crap. Naturally threads shouldn't be locked just because of a few spammers in the replies, but if it's the OP who is doing it, that's a different story.

inb4 OP gets mad

OT: it is just a funny thing people do, no big deal.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

We used to get rid of it, as it was considered spam and a pointless meme. The "new" rules, being less strict, doesn't preclude it anymore. I think that our current policy is fine.

That is dependent on how often its used though. Anything that's to overdone is grounds for a second look at that policy IMO. I don't think we're there yet though. If nearly every topic was full of inb4s and/or a lot of threads were instantly derailed due to inb4 crap, I think it wouldn't be unreasonable to get rid of it again.

I personally don't mind it. I do think its stupid and unoriginal, but I can still easily ignore it.

There is nothing wrong with it, it prevents spam and annoying, irrelevant discussion.

I use it mainly in the Flood.

*Refering to OP inb4 lists*

I find it extremely annoying that when someone posts about topic A, B and C come out of nowhere and eventually the thread is completely derailed.

It is a good weapon against one liners such as Cool Story Bro, and other spam.

I admit to long lists of inb4, but honestly, it keeps the discussion on topic, and actually prevents spam.

I fail to see how writing a few lines in the OP is spam, the OP still has a valid topic to discuss.

I consider spam to be off topic discussion or outbursts at the OP himself.

...How? If people want to spam or start up irrelevant discussion, they're going to regardless of whether or not you ask them not to. In fact, it even tips some users off to the fact that you don't want them to do something so they go ahead and do it anyways.

It's like walking into a shady part of the docks wearing a T-Shirt that says "Please don't rob me and the $1,000 I'm carrying in my Suitcase!" and expecting to make it to the other side unharmed.

That would be correct if the Flood was full of logical organisms.

They actually stay on topic most of the time, although they comment on the list size.

What you're saying makes no sense and, quite simply, is not true.

People are going to say things if they want to say things. They don't ACTUALLY not say something (mainly a generic phrase or an expected response that the OP is anticipating) just because the OP says "inb4adapt" or "inb4religionisstupid". The fact that it doesn't happen is entirely coincidental.

The mere nature of inb4's doesn't at all grant any legitimacy to your claims. In fact, it directly disputes it. The OP is saying they're "in" before something happens. A phrase is said, an attack is made, what have you. People aren't going to go "Well, I was going to say that this is a wall of text, but the OP said 'inb4greatwallofchina'... Dammit, guess I can't now."

That's not how people, let alone Floodians (c wat i did thar?), act; nor is it the way that one would assume they would act when encountering a ridiculously useless line of text that is an "inb4".
