Subject: Where do you see the Halo Universe 10 years from now?

The Forerunners having been fully explored?
More details upon Precursors?

These are just a few examples but where do you see the Halo Universe 10 years from now?

Still fighting flood....Because flood is invincible....It is extragalactic....means that if we defeat it here....it will win some1 there.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

I've noticed somewhat of a parallel between Halo CE and Halo 4. Halo CE opens with you emerging from your cryo pod to land on a mysterious world, uncovering secrets and unveiling new mysteries and every turn. The same could be said for Halo 4.

In 10 years Halo will have had its time and will be put to rest I believe.
I don't think a shooter series will have the ability to last for 20 years to be honest. And to be completely honest, I am 23 now so I'm 33 in 10 years and I don't think I am still a gamer then. So if the series would end before that I'm totally fine with that.

Starwars is still quite popular now....what has starwars that halo dosent ?

A cultural impact that was bigger than that of Halo.
Dads who transferred their love of the series onto their kids, and sadly new gamers are less likely to go back to old games than we generally are towards old movies
Lucas constantly tweaking everything to keep it updated and suited to a new generation of fans.
loads of spin offs.

Add to that: its universe is WAY bigger than Halo's and also allows for far more details, books, movies, games etc. Let's face it: the only really interesting parts of the Halo Universe are the UNSC-Covenant War (about 30 years) and the Forerunner-Flood Wars. While it has a fairly big Universe and deep story for a game, it still is a bit limited in its scope and I doubt that will make it last for more than 20 years.

I think we're gonna see a cybernetic form of the Flood. Sort of like the Reapers in Mass Effect? I don't know, that's what the Halo 4 concept art kinda made me think.

I think we're about to lose Earth, completely. Like really completely.

Humanity will reach some sort of equal level with the Forerunners... and we will go to war again.

On that note, yea, the Forerunners are still alive, under the control of The Timeless One.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Yes on the first point, no on that Timeless One thing. Not much evidence to support it.

True. But a man can dream right? :D

The way I see it, if the Precursors really did 'create' the Forerunners, like they seemingly claim to have done, then I'm sure there is some sort of failsafe they implemented in them, something akin to the geas that the Librarian implemented in the Humans.

When -blam!- goes bad, The Precursor swoops in and then boom, all of you become my minions.

I don't know, its all speculation now but a concept I would love to see :)

That was on gregs board so it pretty much implies that it was lying

Overrun with 10 year olds from the looks of things.

I forsee the main story being officially finished (with the end of Halo 6).

Then Peter Jackson starts working on his next big project, the Halo series.

If they had done something like that I think the Prisoner would have initiated it either as soon as he was broken out or not too long after. He wouldn't have even bothered with sending the Flood, he would has just gone straight to mind-control.

Interesting idea, but I don't think it's likely to happen :/ *shrug*

Unfortunately.

343i will most likely determine if there will be more golden years of Halo with the Reclaimer Trilogy.
