Anti-Infantry are nearly pointless in Halo Wars. The only thing I ever use Flamethrowers for are Hunters. Otherwise, Scorpions can handle other infantry units effectively.

Well....HW is not cannon.

Yes it is.

He's right actually, Halo Wars is not a cannon.

However, it is canon.

And flamethrowers would be good for building clearing, fighting flood, etc. They also were most likely equipped with heavier armor.

I see what you did thar.

I see no flamethrowers in use by armed forced today, yet i can see them in archival footage of WW2 and vietnam?

Im calling shenanigans!

That's because burning people to death with napalm is "inhumane" or something.

Remember vietnam... or II World War...

Turns out that the US refused to sign anything barring it's use, but there has been a lot of public back lash. (What I've just found out in 10 minutes of research.)

Some random quote from wikipedia about napalm:

"We sure are pleased with those backroom boys at Dow. The original product wasnt so hot if the -blam!-s were quick they could scrape it off. So the boys started adding polystyrene now it sticks like -blam!- to a blanket. But if the -blam!-s jumped under water it stopped burning, so they started adding Willie Peter (white phosphorus) so to make it burn better. And just one drop is enough, itll keep on burning right down to the bone so they die anyway from phosphorus poisoning."

I can't imagine why it's frowned upon.
Damn, I never knew that. Geez...

What does cannon even mean?

A cannon is a large gun that typically fires a shell or ball and causes larger damage than smaller weapons (rifles, pistols, etc.) The modern day equivalent would be Artillery.

In the context of a work of fiction, the term canon denotes the material accepted as "official" in a fictional universe's fan base.

"violent video games make me murder innocent people the way Monopoly makes me rich"

Well...Halo Wars also had "Vampires"...It's no doubt physically impossible for a vehicle to "steal" health from troops. Let's just say Halo wars' logic is missing. It doesn't connect to the story of the other games, and Ensemble studios messed up real bad on the troops they allow you to insert.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Well that completely different. Vampires stealing health is 100% a gameplay factor. I highly doubt the Covenant would have vehicle that would imobilize an enemy air unit, and steal it's power or whatever, like if it were a tractor beam from Star Wars.

Flamethrowers have been deployed in historical wars that have effectively taken place and have been recorded. I'm not saying they wouldint exist in the Halo Universe, but against the Covenant so openly as main anti-infantry units seems very, very unlikely.
