I am a monument to all your sins
A gripe that many people seem to have with Glasslands is the fact that many elites still harbor hatred towards the humans, despite learning that the prophets were liars, and receiving aide from humanity in destroying the covenant loyalists. What people need to first realize is that not all elites still want to destroy humanity, the fact that 'telcam needs to work in secret attests to this, the novel merely doesn't portray the viewpoints of any elites loyal to the Arbiter.
People also must consider that the elites view themselves as the good guys, and as such are not exactly willing to admit that they just willingly participated in a massive xenocide against the humans. Many of these elites personally participated in these atrocities, and in order to maintain their own sense of self-rigorousness they need to somehow rationalize their crimes as not being evil.
before the schism the elites had religion to justify their actions, but when this justification was revealed to be false they needed a new outlook to maintain their self-respect. To accomplish this, many elites convinced themselves that the humans were dishonest scum, who will stop at nothing to expand into elite territories.
This rationalization also fed into the elite's need for a purpose now that the covenant had fallen. If the humans are planning revenge, and can't be trusted as allies, then the logical thing for the elites to do would be to declare war with them and finish what they started, thus restoring the sense of purpose craved by many Sangheili.
