Why did Reach take the color, the style, the feel, of Halo out of this game? Was it to more obviously signify that it's not a true Halo game? I'd say so.

Discuss.

This is actually one of my biggest gripes about Reach, how visually unappealing it is. Where are all the colorful, vibrant maps I fell in love with? Everything is so Forge World Grey in this game.

OMFG DOOD MY SCHOOL HAS 4000 KIDS AND LIKE 50% ARE BLACK, THEY ALL DO THIS ITS SO FKN ANOOYING. IT MAKES ME WANT TO PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE BUT IM AFRAID CUZ THEY'RE BLACK.

I think so. That's also why Bungie didn't put the word "Halo" in the main menu, because they knew it wasn't a real Halo game.

Apparently they felt the video game industry was desperately lacking colorless games.

I mean, here we have all of these vibrant and beautiful games, Call of Duty being a prime example, that have just caused us to be so deprived of the magnificence of boring and dull colors.

Reach satisfied this obvious shortcoming in the gaming industry.

My guess is they couldn't afford paint on Reach, just like how they couldn't afford BRs.

Nuff thing much. I think Halo is awesome:D

Agreed! Halo reach is all of those things. I find that the game takes itself too seriously and it makes the multiplayer and campaign quite boring, but some of the dlc maps like highlands and the new CEA remake maps do capture the classic halo style.

Did you seriously just say that Highlands captured the "classic halo style"? That is possibly the worst map that has ever been made for a halo game ever, and feels nothing like classic halo.

I'll respect both what he and you said as opinions, nothing more.

I agree with the OP though. Halo: Reach attempts to be gritty "cool" and such (like a lot of other shooters such as Gears of War), but fails obviously due to the fact that it shouldn't ever have been a gritty game. Halo: ODST in fact looks better than Reach, because it pulls off the gritty look without making everything look like some arsewipe smeared grunge all over the textures because he thought it made it look "next gen".

Well in terms of color scheme, I'd say it nailed classic halo style. The map is beautiful.

Can I have a pursuit warthog? (red&blue flashing lights, siren, black and white paint job, gull-wing doors, no turret but a truckbed cap where the turret assembly should be, and the ability to arrest players :)

A police falcon would be great as well... (Black&white paint job, flashing red & blue lights on the wing struts and tail, no turrets and doors that open and close similar to the republic gunships in Star Wars. Kick... Ass.)

Police pelican would be cool too!!!

Solution: Turn on the 'juicy' effect.

Problem solved! Now let this thread die!
