Subject: Compilation of Proposed Features I'd Like

"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams

I would love everything that you mentioned Daz. It would make life around here much less hectic and frustrating :)

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

I love your suggestions, and I feel very strongly for more interactivity with the site. I'm not a fan of rating threads though. I feel like it's a feature that I could definitely live without.

I'd rather have some kind of "Like" button. Sometimes I don't want to reply to a thread, but I do like a post within it or the thread itself. Sort of the same idea as ratings, but less complicated IMO.

While I'm in favor of giving well-behaved users some kind of "reward," I'm not sure I feel about giving them "privileges."

Best of random chance

That could get out of hand, depending on the privileges and how they're distributed. I feel like if it was done right it'd be nice.

13.72 billion years in the making.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

Can I get just an EST option?

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I'm in complete agreement with everything in the General category. Particularly the in-house sign in and account system.

Same with the Forum section. The only thing in there that I have some reservations about is the rating feature. I'm not totally against the rating feature, but I do think it will discourage discussion in favor of rankings. Perhaps tie it into the save feature, since the save feature kind of already does the "like" thing is a subtle way. Just make it more noticeable, because some of those existing "top forum topics" appear to be unmovable.

I'm in total agreement with the Searching section as well.

Agree with the Format portion, except with the caveat that you can toggle the "@" search off.

Once again, completely on target with the Groups. I'd actually like to add a bunch of other features to chapters too. Most to all of the old features that were done away with during the New New Hawtness. All the "PM all" type of suggestions that have been made over the years need another look as well.

I don't really care either way in regards to the profile suggestions you made. I'll never use them, and provided I don't have to moderate them, they'll have no bearing on anything I do.

I think integrating an email into the message system is a terrible idea, and just asking for bugs and hackings. I don't see why it would need any sort of email integration, aside from adding a sent box. I'd love a sent box, but I don't want it to be tied to any external systems. Leave it inhouse.

Spectacular list Daz. I hope the webteam sees this and takes it all to heart.
