About 6 months ago I used to tool all my friends especially this one kid Taylor who was the only one that actually owned the game. But ever since he has beat the game on Legendary he has gotten much better and now he beats my ass by about 10 points, and I have been playing multiplayer for so much longer(since the game came out). What can I do to get better and finally start tooling him again so I can stop his smack talk?

Loose your life.

I don't think that would help. That's also not being helpful.

You should get an xbox, if you don't have one (not enough information in your post). Get an internet connection. Play on Xbox Connect until Halo 2 releases. Also beat campaign on Legendary first. I hate playing New people on XBC.

Well I go with Josher 35, but also play on legendary. If you get the internet connection and you play against some badasses thats not good. Thats not learing. Also you might not be able to get the internet connection. I say that playing on legendary helps alot, but I still get my butt beat. I dont own the game, yet im pritty good at it. Hopefully one day i'll beat my friend at it. Oh and try to have more then you and him. More people adds more expierence and more fun while your diein. Well good luck. Have fun...

Sorry, I forgot to mention I just bought Xbox and Halo a month ago so I could actually play the campaign and also get better. I guess Legendary will have to do for now because I don't have Xbox live.

Actually playing people that completely own you is the only way to get better... because you learn from their tactics and have to react faster to stay alive. If I ever go for a while only playing crappy people when I go back to good people I find that i'm not as good.

btw rikimaru only sissies like to play with the stealth asassin...

I feel your pain. I to am lacking in the multiplayer field. The best way to level the battle is to look for any weakness and constantly pounding it !

Well, I'm a old pro so to speak at Halo multiplayer. I'll give you a brief rundown of what I know. First off learn what your core weapons are and what weapons work well for what situation. For me I'm always carring the sniper rifle with the shotgun or AR. I hardly use the pistol. I feel it has no skill involved with it. Just my opinion. After you learned (and I say practice shooting with your weapons at Spartans in multplayer while moving standing still, I do this for sniper practice) how to kill at a sufficent rate, learn the levels a little bit. Like where is a good place to hide, where can I get health quickly, what areas might my enemies take most offen. Then after that play Lan/Xbox Connnect with your friends. Learn how they play and attack and take what they did to you and apply it to your field of play. Oh, and another thing. Remember, in Halo cover can be just as good as guns blazing. Me, being a sniper, I have learned that waiting for a shot is as important as killing all the other team. Example: One time during a tournament 1 flag (3 min.) 3 captures CTF game at a Game Station in Mt. Vernon, IL I let my team go off and try to get the others flag. To say the least I didn't shoot that round but later (as in 6 mins later) I made one shot mind you to save the game when their player was driving off with the flag. So, for summary learn what your good at, learn the level play, and take what punishment you may get from your friends adapt and become a better player.

Firstly and i'm not trying to be sarcastic. You have to want to win. Secondly if you really do hate being pwnd in MP play the game over and over. But not on easy or normal or even heroic, Those two dificulties are rediculously easy once you've got your game on. Even still after your've played Legendary to excess you'll find that it starts to get rediculously easy aswell. I'm sure you'll work out that the more you play the better you are than other poeple.

And yes there was a time when i found Legendary to be easy. What i found hard was sniping my friend as he bopped along with the skull in MP. I still love being the person in my group that always gets the most kills. Average Kills in a CTF match to 3 points is around 90 - 100.

Good luck Seamus Aran

The best way that I can say to get better is to host lan parties as often as possible and contiue to play against those that are better then you. Learn by experience. If you think im kidding try this, leave halo alone for a bit and test your skills on CS for xbox. Test out your gaming skills on xbox live and heres the important part... dont give up. Keep playing, even if you are getting schooled. Take the time and skills you learn from other players from that game and convert it to halo.Plus it will give you enough of a break from the game that it wont be burned into your mind and replayed in your sleep, seeing yourself dieing as much You wont belive the change in you shooting and accuracy after playing CS. You may think im crazy but you will never believe me till you try it. Test me out on CS and Halo 2 (once its out) im always up for challenges. if you need any more tips just ask. My xbox live tag is Chace. thats it just Chace. hope to hear from you and see how your fight goes against that kid. If you want me to school him for you, send him my way.
Have fun. Chace

I used to get thrashed by my brother. He was known for being the best in his group of friends and was said to "cheat". After playing for a long time on XBC i got to a point where i would either thrash the opponents or be almost equal where it could go both ways.

Anyway, after this my brother and i started playing more MP against each other and i was able to own him quite nicely.

There can be a small problem with training on XBC and that is the fact that you will start to compensate for a small degree of lag. So you would shoot a little further ahead of the enemy with the pistol than you might normally. This is easily addapted to tho as it is just a bonus when you suddenly feel the lack of lag on MP.

Pro, eh? Well then you would use the pistol if you were. The pistol is the most cheap/powerful weapon in the game. Use it to your advantage. Tell you what, next time I go visit my grandparents (they live in Irvington, IL), I'll go to Mt.Vernon and play some Halo with you. I haven't known any good player that hasn't used the pistol.

Yes you need to use the pistol. Try to play on XBC too.

Pistols are -blam!- everyone knows that, if you are stupid enough to use it you would get owned by any decent player that doesn't use it, thank god it's not in halo 2

Pistols are the best. I dunno what you got against them (unless youve been killed by them multiple times), but I can kill my friends using a pistol easily... They get so mad. Full sheild or not aim at the head 3 shots and they are totally dead. 2 for the shield 1 for the head BANG. Or if your able to use a shotgun, needler, rocket launcher, or plasma pistol pick up a combo that works out towards you. ex. Pistol and Plasma Pistol. PP takes down the shield then one shot with the Pistol and your on to the next. PP and Needler, kill their shield and pump them full of needles. ect. ect. BTW Zoggy what the heck r u talkin bout?... PS: Pistols are in # 2 I seen a recent video on the newer Halo version games.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

To quote an annoyingly cliche'd phrase- "Practice makes perfect!"

I just can't get better and I'm a very slow learner and an even more impatient person. It sucks. Even more when I think about how much I used to tool this kid and he somewhow got better beating Legendary once with another friend! At least I will forever have my bass playing skills over him (i hope)
