Do you think in Halo 2 the vehicles will blow up (ghost) and killing people will happen that quick in the final product? It seemed a bit fast (even for duel weilding), but It might be because the person was moving pretty straight forward...

Any thoughts on this matter?

Think about it, in Halo if every bullet from the AR hits the enemy will be dead in about 4 seconds. Imagine getting direct hits from both an SMG and the new and improved needler at once.

Wort wasn't exactly a moving target here people and it was point blank range. *lol* Halo 2 is a whole different ball game. Now you can dodge a target by just jumping over him, clearing his head by nearly a meter and making him reorient on you.

I just don't want this type of game to feel like counter-strike where it takes like 2 shoots (or at least feels as if that many is implied) to kill someone...

Take into consideration the fact that in an actual multiplayer match the ghost wont be stationary, it will be moving. The E3 demo had the ghost simply sitting their, whereas in an actual match vehicles will be moving quickly and in an unpredictable pattern. It is simply too early to depict whether the vehicles will be easily destroyed, the release date is far from here and there is still a lot of tweaking to do. So I am sure, things will change.

I didn't say any of it was like completely done now.... and I know for a fact it could possible be still in the tweaking stage still. But even with the boost feature the ghost would still be easy to hit, and in the video's (Include the 21 second ingame clip IGN has) it felt it was rather easy to kill. (The ghost)

take another look at that video. the ghost actually does take a pretty good amount of damage before its destroyed. also, dont forget that the weapon he shoots it with (battle rifle) is suposed to be a cross between the pistol and the AR. so its probably a lot more powerful than the AR was.
er... u were talking about the ghost blowing up right?

Its a lot more difficult get some good clean rounds into a ghost while its moving, I think thats well known. You also have to understand that maybe Bungie planned for the Ghost to take minimal damage. In every online multiplayer game which involves vehicle support, there are those who care nothing of fighting as an infantry soldier but only care about using vehicles to stack up their kills. I'm sure Bungie considered this and perhaps purposely made all vehicles not just the Ghost take minimal damage. Although the Warthog took a significant amount of damage in the demonstration.

"We also find the new but not necessarily improved assault rifle -- as you may have heard, it now features a scope for some simple but relatively weak single-shot sniping. Definitely more versatile, yes but if you're zoomed out, you're no longer fully automatic -- you fire in three-bullet bursts. You don't get to burn full clips as quickly as you do with the SMG, but you get better accuracy at medium to long ranges, thus saving the SMG for short-range skirmishes"

This states that the battle rifle is to be weak though =O.

BTW, I got this off a website stating they played the game... (created in a topic with the title stating it had some answers)

I have seen that... It took like 4 to 6 rockets to down the warthog...

Yeah it may just be the Ghost that takes minimal damage. Its difficult to say and actually be accurate at this point in time. Everything out their created by the fans of this forum is only speculation, and although we have recieved a number of videos and information in the past week, we still know practically nothing about Halo 2.

Well, I'm just a bit concerned... I don't want Halo 2 to fall short due to little things like this you could say... I have faith in bungie that they'll make it work like everyone wants it too though =]

Its a good thing to be concerned about the outcome of Halo 2. In fact if your not concerned, your not a fan of Halo. Whats wrong is being dissappointed with Halo 2.
