Yep.

played lan parties on CE back in the day - easily the most fun ever ever ever - when talking smack was an art form, not just 11 year olds raging.

the original campaign = mind asploded. first contact with the flood had me death gripping the controller.

missed halo 2 online - played the campaign - meh

halo 3 online was first online experience. loved it even though i got pwned.

reach: campaign was kinda weak sauce - multiplayer is pretty sweet. still can't stand Armor Lock though.

Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things.

Ok, this post is sounding like a support group. Been here from the beginning. Love it. Thanks Bungie, good luck 343i.

Been playing since CE on xbox, I remember all the lan parties.
The only problems I'd had with my friends was the inevitable "screen-scheating" excuse.

I swear I wasn't.

And you still lie even too this day! Every group had a kid like you! The screen cheater! =P lol
You have no proof!

Yes I do! There's no way you knew I was around that corner without looking at my screen!

Screen watchers are fun to screw with:) The reason people hated sharing a split with me was that I knew all of the audio cues by heart (I'm a sound guy/audiophile) and I could use grenades as "sonar" haha! Ahh, Halo's halcyon days:)

"Before you insult someone, try walking a mile in their shoes. This way, when you insult them, you are a mile away and have their shoes."

Yeah, I am. But I think I'm quitting soon, Reach was a great last hurrah.

picked ce up first day it came out. did xb connect / gamespy, amazing fun. the 3-5 hour ctf games on hang um high or blood gulch.time limits suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! having rocket/sniper on chill out was unbeatable. throwning grenades at the correct spots on maps like hangum high at the very start of the game and launching the rocket and or sniper across the map directly to u!! etc etc. ce = :)

man... i remember the lan parties too. seriously, we once had the cops called on us because the neighbors thought we were holding a "fight club" or something. hell, my actual first purchase was just a controller - THE DUKE - just to be able to participate in the lan parties.

i'll admit, reach hasn't felt the same. but that's cuz most people seemed to leave because of gameplay mechanics, and stuff like armor lock, and because the game isn't social anymore (thanks, party chat). it sounds like Halo CEA will fix a lot of that, so i hope to see everyone on Installation 04. I'll be the guy wearing a mic, who's NOT in party chat.

The best is when you're the fourth player for a party of three, and even though you have a mic in they all stay in party chat.

And you have to carry them, It's my favourite.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

I've been around since the beginning. I still play CE and Halo 2. In fact, I'm having a bunch of my old high school buddies over to play System Link on Saturday. We'll probably end up hitting every installment.

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

Started from H2. Never liked the 1st.

*raises hand*

Been around since the CE days. Did many LAN parties.

Haven't done a single one with Reach though. It just isn't good enough to do it. No game is these days actually.

EDIT: I miss LAN parties...

Yes. CE is still the best, even after all of the new changes to the modern ones.

I played LAN parties for HALO CE in high school right after HALO came out. Lived in a small town and we would order 100 double cheese burgers from McDonalds and play all night long. We were playing HALO 2 at a LAN party when they showed the debut for the XBOX 360 at E3. It seemed those friends who played started to wane like the first guy said. Only have 2 or 3 friends who will play Halo. I didn't get XBOX live until 3 years ago and played a lot of Halo 3, I loved those times too and Valhala was my favorite map, I loved driving the warthog. I have been playing Reach since day one and have never looked back. I love the game play and feel of Reach and will be playing the Anniversary Edition the day it comes out.

There is just something magical about leaning your head back, letting your eyes roll into the back of your head, and taking a piss while floating in the swimming pool.

HA HA your comment brought back some serious memories. I remember buying my controller to take to the lan parties on the LAN parties on the floor above mine back in college. I remember when I finally scraped some money together to buy an Xbox in 2003...I was the -blam!-.

It's too bad that Xbox burst into flames on my carpet in 2006. I had to literally throw it out the sliding glass door down three floors into a bush.

The funny thing was literally a week later I got a power cord from Microsoft telling me to change out the power cord, because the original was causing fires. Go figure.
