Been playing Halo since 2001, still playing Halo Reach. Stopped playing when Battlefield 3 came out, but went back because I missed Halo Reach. Now I'm on and off of the two games, both are really fun and I consider myself pretty good in both games.

There is just something magical about leaning your head back, letting your eyes roll into the back of your head, and taking a piss while floating in the swimming pool.

I gave up on Halo Reach when Gears of War 3 came out and all the other awesome games this fall has brought.

Ironically, I saw on ebay a guy selling Anniversary map codes for $7.00 on ebay. Just bought it two days ago and I've been playing Reach ever since.

Oh, and I've been playing Halo since 2002 when I was in college as well. Those were the days. Good times.

OH DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THE OLD XBCONNECT?!

It sucked but was awesome b/c it allowed you to play Halo CE via Xbox online. That was pretty cool.

I don't understand oral at all. I will never do that it is so nasty! And doing things in woods sounds scary.

Since the 26th of December, 2001.

I still play all the Halo games pretty regularly. Been here since 2004, although I did start with CE first and H2 second. Still have them both, and the old Xbox too. Still play 'em.
I don't play video games in general anywhere near as much as I did a few years back, what with an actual life and all now, but most of what I play when I do is Halo. Still playin' all of them pretty often though, for the time per week I put in. Except Halo Wars.
Every time I get a new game, Halo dies for three weeks in my books, then I go back. I hope that never changes, honestly. I've met some pretty cool people and played some really fun games over the years. All the -blam!- people give Halo, but it's given me all the best times I've had in my time gaming, and it's still the only series that can permanently retain my attention. Beat that, CoD.

Thank you for this chance to reflect on the joys this series has given me. It's something I've really never thought about until now.

First time I played Halo was early 2003... The whole next month, I saved as much money as I could, given I was like 12 at the time lol, got a bit of help too, but within a month after playing CE, I ran out to get my own Xbox...

I still play Reach... I really enjoy the Anniversary settings, despite them not being exactly like CE, but it's a lot of fun. In terms of actual Reach gameplay tho, I really don't like the default gameplay settings, however the TU Beta playlist, ZB-gametypes were definitely a step in the right direction, IMO.

Reach feels like a Halo game to me with those settings and dare I say, almost like a hybrid of the 2 best games of the series too, CE and Halo 2. Plays really well I feel...

I was in college when the Xbox and Halo came out in 2001. For literally 18 months every weekend there were amazing lan parties of Halo on every floor of the dorms I was living in. We started playing around 6pm Friday night, and we played until some times into 6am Saturday morning. It....was.....awesome.

Then we all graduated and played together over the new Xbox Live via Halo 2, but one by one people dropped off by Halo 3. ODST ruined it for many and we lost more.

Finally Halo Reach came out and out of the 10-15 of us that played all the time together for years...I'm the only one left, and since Gears of War 3 came out I haven't touched Reach. In fact I think I might be done with Halo. Not sure yet.

Anyway, is there anyone out there from the "original guard" that are still playing Halo all these years?

*raises hand.

I've only been playing since 2003 but Halo has always been my main FPS and my main game for a lot of my gaming 'career'.

I am, used to have Halo LAN parties every saturday night... then it turned into paintball during the day and Halo at night.... aaaa, the good old days

Straight Edge.

Yeah. Halo 2 was my favorite. Me and my cousin gamed Halo CE like mad when it was out. Halo 3 was the be all end all for me. If 343i can do a good job at Halo 4 then I have no problem with 2 more games.

When he was younger, he was the one who always had the jokes and riddles that would keep the spirits of the Spartans high. Over the years however, his lifetime of combat had hardened him, as it had all of the Spartans. Within Will, John thought, something special had been lost.

meh.. I swore off of Halo after M$ appropriated the IP. I haven't really played since Bungie Day. But in answer to your original question, "yes." I also played it on PC and had the key for the nameplate in Reach. Good times.

CE multiplayer is so underrated. I was glad to see it given a chance to break it's bonds as a system link only title and given access to the world of online play. Lots of new maps, not to mention the modding community. Lot's of really good user created maps to go along with the tried and true classics. I still play it every now and again.

-Reach is not Halo. A good game, yes, but not Halo. -Zomechin

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - Spark

Nope, not playing the trashy game called "Reach".

Yep. I also am the only one left out of my friends from the CE days that continues to play. Too bad I haven't gotten much better.

I remember when halo ce: came as xbox live DLC. I was at FOB Falcon in Iraq. It brought back some memories and playing 2v2 lan games with my boys during our downtime.......

When CEA comes out it will be the 3rd time ive bought the game, and probably the 100th time ive played through it.

man, that must've been a rough deployment.

He who cannot command himself should obey. And many can command themselves, but much is still lacking before they can obey themselves.

Nope. Just sold my copy of Reach.

We'll see what Halo 4 looks like before I total disavow the Halo series.

Probably a little different than sitting on his Mom's couch in the basement eating Hotpockets.

Oh, my bad, that was your experience.

Sometimes, I dream about cheese.

i stopped at reach, the multiplayer maps where boring IMO. its a shame ODST wasnt as popular as it should have been. HALO 2 will always be the pinnacle of the series to me, i miss it so much :(
anyone hoping for a H2A (HALO 2 Anniversary) on its 10th anniversary with in house game engine for campaign AND multiplayer?

I intend to live forever, or die trying,

so far, so good.

Yes, I have been playing since Halo CE, and still play REACH today.

I also had a lot ofh Halo CE Lan Parties as well, I was 20 when Halo CE came out.

Normally 4-8 people every weekend, and once every 3-4 weeks we had 16 people.

lots of fun and alcohol.

Xboxconnect, I also use to use this system, by got my Xbox Live Gold and have never looked back. I have Gold for over 6 years now.

The Xbox was my first console, and Halo was the first worthwhile game I'd played. I was a fan from the literal beginning of my life as a gamer.

I've played literally every game since the original Halo - Including Halo for PC and Halo: Custom Edition.
