Subject: The reasons Reach failed to best halo 3

I personally like Halo Reach, but I can tell the difference from Reach and Halo 3. Keep in mind I am not claiming that everyone feels the same way. Just an in depth perception of a gamer who has spent a great deal of time in Halo 3 and Halo Reach. So here it is.

1: The Bloom Effect, seriously? Why? It is such a bad addition.

2: Credit Cap? Whoever made this idea is an idiot. This causes people to play less... What were you thinking?

3: The amount of quitters is ridiculous. Which is part of reason 4.

4: Matchmaking is terrible. Eight random people ( No parties ) 4 are high ranks 4 are low ranks. One team gets all the good people, it happens... Alot. Also you can go in solo and go against a full partied team of inheritors. Seriously? Also you can quit here and there with no real penaltys= quitters.

5: Armor effects are just a mess.

6: No BR. Self explanatory to real halo fans

7. No good DLC.

I'll stop on 7 ;)

There IS good things about Reach and it's still a fun game but it had more potential than this. If you feel there is something I missed post it. I'm sure this has been done before but I haven't been in the forums for about two years so dont try to say this has been posted before.

Replace 5 with no ranking system and 6 with cardboard vehicles. That's not even to mention the campaign or firefight...

BTB in Halo 3 and Halo 2 were great.

That's a good point. In Halo 3 if you went against a general you knew you had to play your best. In Reach you can play against an inheritor that has 500 MM kills ( Actual experience ) It's a shame. No real competitiveness like Halo 3. Not even close.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

2. Couldn't care less.
3. There were quitters in H3 also. But more in Reach because there wasn't a punishment for quitting.
4. Matchmaking is all social, that's why it sucks ass.

All these are bound to change over time obviously.

1. Bloom was a mistake.

2. The credit cap is there to tell you that you need to go outside. If you hit it when you are below Nova, you played too much.

3. Quitters are a community base thing. Don't blame the game because people can't stand to be beaten. Also ever heard of a Quit Ban? Trust me, they get somewhat of a punishment. Even though I believe it should be harsher. I haven't quit a match in about a year. (Minus the occasional Laggouts and host boots.)

4. Rank =/= Skill

5. Why are they a mess? I think they were a great addition.

6. I agree with this one, but disagree. I do miss the Battle Rifle. There are people who have played Halo since CE release that don't like the battle rifle. So they aren't Halo fans?

7. Does DLC really make the game? I think any "Halo Fan" will love the DLC with Halo CEA because it is the classic maps.
