Hey guys. I havn't been on the forums for a while, and I bet this post has come up many times, but I think that I might as well post it here. I think that it would be great to have the original Halo CE have a Live component. Now, I'm not going to go in to stuff about which game is better, or anything like that. The fact is, they are different games. I mean, PDZ and COD2 are both shooter games, but they are different, and they each have their own live system. So, I think both Halo CE and Halo 2 should both have a different live system, because they are different games.

Now, on to a major point, I want to analyse the feasablility of this proposal. Halo CE is many years old, and it doesn't even have a live component to begin with. So, I would like to ask the Bungie personnel: Would it be possible to make Halo CE live capable short of rereleasing the game? I mean, the 360 has a lot of capacity for different things, and can even download its own games. Also, halo CE on the 360 is different from Halo CE on the X-box because there is no option for game demo's on the 360. So, couldn't a new live multiplayer component be written up, and then added in to the emulator on the 360 to make Halo CE live capable on the 360? I'm jsut asking whether this would be possible or not, not if Bungie would do it, or how hard it would be. it would jst be nice to know if it were possible. Thank you for your time.

true true, but if you really want halo multiplayer, go get Halo PC. its 7 million times better than the halo1 for xbox. and for your poll, yes i agree that there should be halo ce live, but its too late now. bungie would never work on halo1, theyre currently working on halo2Pc, and updates on halo2 xbox.

Let there be CHAOS!

Halo 1 on live would probably be the sweetest thing ever. i love halo pc and halo ce (custom edition) to death but leading shots gets really old (even tho i own at it lol...or at least i used to....havent played much lately).....i'd love to see halo combat evolved on live with netcode similar to halo 2's. yes i know that means it would have to a be a bit "noobed up" (more autoaim, bigger hitboxes, etc) or else we'll end up having to lead shots on xbox too lol. but yea i've always wanted the first halo on live. its way better than halo 2 in my opinion....

if they released a new "Halo: Combat Evolved - Xbox Live Compatible!" i would buy it.......

"Halo MP's playability and popularity is due in no small part to the fact that it was written and intended to be played on a "fast and clean" network. Your typical LAN is 100 MBit and has very little latency or "noise". That's the beauty and joy of a LAN."

The Internet on the other hand is a "slow and dirty" network (by comparison). XBL doesn't (and can't) change the laws of physics. If Halo was simply rewritten with an XBL component and no other changes, playability on XBL would be very similar to that of any System-Link tunneling programs.

Thats a good idea Recon #54 makeing the same game but using xbc as the dashboard.Lets face it the internet is cool cause of typing and reading not talking in a mic. .XBC is better than live in my way of thinking becaues its the rawest form of the internet.Nobody knows if your male, female, black, white, rich, poor, Proper english ,country sounding ,old or young kinda like Master Chief.Xbc is also better than live because you can censore the words typed.Live is filled with profanity.

"For example, many people will say, "Halo on XBC is laggy." While that is correct, it seems to point the finger at XBC, which is not the case. Halo on the Internet is (and would be) laggy. "

Comcast has speeds far greater now than 6 years ago.Lag is the product of lack of upload on the hosts end.95% of all my games on XBC is lag free recon #54 how about you?

"So, not only would XBL capability need to be added, but the network coding and most likely some game-play elements would need to be altered. At that point, the game is truly no longer the Halo that we all know and love."

NO dont touch anything in the network.you just stated the reason why halo 1 was great cause it was programed for lan and now you want to change the network code." I think not" I play good on lan and XBC. The Halo Engine is what keeps it together and balanced.

Recon #54 how about this for a change in halo 1.(1)The boys at bungie could add a neutral host option so all players deal with lag.(2) Stats that can be saved to mem card when playing on lan or XBC then uploaded to bungie's site.(3) In game recording like The game Blink The time something?. That how you make halo1 better.

Thank you for responding. That is pretty much what I wanted to figure out, whether or not it would be possible to do it, and if so, would it be worth it. Looking at your response, I could see the complications in trying to do this. Thank you again for responding to my post.

The question is why bungie hasn't made it yet?It wouldn't take much time plus it would make them millions

The REAL Master Chief

Bungie wants to appeal to little kids like star wars.Notice blood has been removed when you melee the dead body.
Halo 2 seemed liked power rangers.Boss fights, easy to use super weapons.I wouldn't be suprised if the scarab gun was in halo 3.
Halo online would be the best game ever but it will never happen.

um, actually spartian 2287, it would take them a really long time to make halo1 work for xbl, because in order to do that, they need to break down every single files on halo1 format to little tiny microfiles, then restable it bby adding millions of new features, especially live feature. then they have to recomplie those millions of pieces back together (seriously, have you ever worked on a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle?) once thats done, they have to test the dam thing, then test it even more for known glitches and etc... and plus, bungie is going to make a bigger sale, and 3 times the millions you mentioned with their new halo2pc. if you want halo1 online multiplayer, just buy the pc version. trust me, its 7 milltion times better than halo1 xbox.
