Best Intro: Baka to Test and Angel Beats!
Best anime to my eyes: Angel Beats!
First anime to make me cry: Clannad
Most time with me laughing: Baka to Test
Most Gory: Elfin Lied.
Favorite Character: Kanade Tachibana <3
All these are bound to change over time obviously.

I think it did a little, but I think the community fell the most.

ODST is much more solid than Reach, so no. It's just Reach.

This, I really liked ODST's campaign style instead of the linear campaigns of the main series, it changed things up to make the story more interesting. Also like the multiple perspective aspect of it too.

No point to it, when you think about it.

Halo slowly slid down, the community exploded in a violent vortex of "n00b".

i am myself

yes halo 2 and 3 matchmaking were amazing and odst was ok,reach has drove us into a dark hole that we could one day come out of but only if 343 does somthing amazing

It went down after Halo 2. Though H3 wasn't too bad.

The Reach Asset

Xhavalor is amazing <3

Pretty much after ODST. People complained like hell that it didn't have matchmaking. I think it has more to do with the Sci-Fi era of games is pretty much over. The majority want modern day stuff.

R.I.P. Halo 2 <33333333
Do not play halo much anymore. Barely ever come on here.

Yes! I lost faith in halo after ODST was released, new all the rest of them were gonna be epic fails.

  • 11.08.2011 3:17 PM PDT

Boltshot = mini shotgun

It started a very small decline, but only because of ODST. That game is amazing.
Halo really received a huge blow after Reach's bad reception.

Tucker Did It!

TL;DR :- I know my ABD's

Not really.
It's not Halo, it's the community.

  • 11.08.2011 3:17 PM PDT

It went down after CE. Halo 2 only survived because of Live. Imagine if that game didn't have Live... Thats the end of Halo right there.

  • 11.08.2011 3:18 PM PDT

I still love all that is halo, Reach included. I think it's a fantastic game especially with the TU update but I get bored of it quicker. Probably due to the fact that barely anyone wants to play it on my friends list. The game is solid but some development paths definitely stand out as negative (e.g. armour lock, maps). I think it's safe to say things got worse after Halo 3.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

It started going downhill halfway through Halo 3.

  • 11.08.2011 3:24 PM PDT

It started going downhill in pre-patch Halo 2. Once the patch came in, it went back uphill a bit, and while still not on the same level as CE, it was a great game and Halo 2 finished out its lifespan as a great game. Once Halo 3 came in, it got even worse. Bungie stopped supporting the community entirely, and the game surprisingly didn't die out too soon. The only thing keeping this horrible game alive were the ignorant fanboys and a few people who could deal with the -blam!- netcode and random BR spread. The game was a joke. Reach comes in, and it's even worse than Halo 3 at first. Once the MLG playlist was released, it became better than Halo 3, but still not quite good enough. Once the Title Update came in, customs at least became bearable. Reach still suffers from a netcode that, while better than Halo 3, is still an absolute joke by any real standards. Bloom is also still too widely used in the game. It was random and shouldn't have returned again after Shadowrun. It worked for that game, but Bloom is not for Halo. It needs to be removed completely so that we can move on as a community and this game can become even better. 343 should utilize Gold Pro settings for use in both the MLG playlist and all the less competitive playlists out there, possibly with a slightly modified starting weapon (DMR/AR) to cater to the competitive crowd while at the same time not alienating the admittedly much larger casual crowd. Another thing 343 needs to do to at least keep this community alive until Halo 4 is utilize forge. There are plenty of great maps being submitted into Blueprint, being tested by the Community Cartographers, being submitted to MLG, ForgeHub, and XForgery, but 343 hasn't jumped into this huge opportunity to revive Halo: Reach yet. Forge alone can help this game become infinitely playable. CEA is going to be another huge step forward for Halo: Reach. With those maps and the many maps that have yet to be added to MM, this community will almost 100% be revived, or at least give those who are already here an enjoyable time.

How long until someone TL;DR's my post? Not long, I bet.

Halo started going downhill when there was barely a year between each release. The anticipation from CE to Halo 2 then from Halo 2 to Halo 3 is what made each game feel worth it. Basically:

2001: Halo CE
Anticipation
Anticipation
Anticipation
2004: Halo 2
Anticipation
Anticipation
Anticipation
2007: Halo 3

Then:
2008: Halo Wars
2009: Halo 3: ODST
2010: Halo Reach

It started to feel like there was no time for people to dig in and really enjoy each game after Halo 3 was released. They started releasing a game per year and there was no genuine buildup of anticipation.

So, to answer your question, yes.

In a nutshell, everyone was starting to get Halod-out.
