It started going downhill in pre-patch Halo 2. Once the patch came in, it went back uphill a bit, and while still not on the same level as CE, it was a great game and Halo 2 finished out its lifespan as a great game. Once Halo 3 came in, it got even worse. Bungie stopped supporting the community entirely, and the game surprisingly didn't die out too soon. The only thing keeping this horrible game alive were the ignorant fanboys and a few people who could deal with the -blam!- netcode and random BR spread. The game was a joke. Reach comes in, and it's even worse than Halo 3 at first. Once the MLG playlist was released, it became better than Halo 3, but still not quite good enough. Once the Title Update came in, customs at least became bearable. Reach still suffers from a netcode that, while better than Halo 3, is still an absolute joke by any real standards. Bloom is also still too widely used int he game. It was random and shouldn't have returned again after Shadowrun. It worked for that game, but Bloom is not for Halo. It needs to be removed completely so that we can move on as a community and this game can become even better. 343 should utilize Gold Pro settings for use in both the MLG playlist and all the less competitive playlists out there, possibly with a slightly modified starting weapon (DMR/AR) to cater to the competitive crowd while at the same time not alienating the admittedly much larger casual crowd. Another thing 343 needs to do to at least keep this community alive until Halo 4 is utilize forge. There are plenty of great maps being submitted into Blueprint, being tested by the Community Cartographers, being submitted to MLG, ForgeHub, and XForgery, but 343 hasn't jumped into this huge opportunity to revive Halo: Reach yet. Forge alone can help this game become infinitely playable. CEA is going to be another huge step forward for Halo: Reach. With those maps and the many maps that have yet to be added to MM, this community will almost 100% be revived, or at least give those who are already here an enjoyable time.
How long into someone TL;DR's my post? Not long, I bet.No, Halo 2 pre-patch recovered while Halo: Reach has not so therefore Halo went downhill during lolReach
