Just playing some games that's all :3

I'm wondering if Windows XP or Windows 7 could work with Halo 2 PC.If they do work or I need to do something to make work (As what I heard about the Windows 7 verison),I would really like to see anything I can do for it.

Has to be Windows Vista or above (i.e. currently Vista or 7, and future releases).

I have installed Halo 2 Vista on both Windows 7 32 bit and 64 and found no problems with the game.

XP doesn't work for it without a super crack to get it to run, and I think there are some issues with the campaign and multiplayer doesn't work (if done on XP)

So installing on Windows 7 will be fine.

May or may not actually work on Windows 7 though. Seems hit and miss.

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Running Halo 2 Vista on Windows 7 is a coin flip. Some players seem to get it running with no problems at all and other players seem to take on the epic journey of error messages and crashes.

I installed it on Windows 7 (fresh install, 64bit) Wouldn't load however once an update was done, I think it was Visual C++ 2010 or something like that it ran fine.

Apart from that I've never had any problem. Just make sure you computer is all up to date before installing I say.

Make sure you know that your PC specs meet the requirements, we've had numerous people come here complaining about the game not running and half the time it's because they're on outdated hardware, or on reasonable hardware with an integrated gpu.

But assuming you do know, then the issues you can potentially encounter with Halo 2 like others have said, is due to the game.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Vista is required to enhance gameplay.

Just remember... I keep it real...

So, the general consensus is that Halo 2 Vista would work on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit? I hope so. I might buy it in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't mind going through that game once more if I can find it cheap.

And also, my computer can definitely handle the game.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit
Intel i5-2500K @ 4.5 ghz
MSI GTX 560 Ti @ 950 mhz
8 GB DDR3 RAM

In theory you'll have no problem running it. However, there are some issues such as GFWL errors (which some can be fixed) and in game bugs that can be a hit and miss with people. That, and if you're looking for a copy, do not buy a second hand one. H2V has a very nice feature whereby once a CD key is used 5 times, it's no longer valid and you have to buy a new one...

Add me to your friends list if you haven't already. It's a lot more fun to play with people from The Maw and people I know than random noobs.

It should work, but if you browse through the threads here a little bit you will see this forum is filled with H2V help threads. The game is very sketchy as to whether or not it will run, so we really can't guarantee anything. It kind of sucks but it's just a feature to enhance gameplay.
