I didn't really find it sad when Johnson died, more just disappointing. I think the saddest was when Foehammer died.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Kat's death, no doubt.

People dont see it, and certainly dont understand the moment. But the moment of her death was incredibly well done.

It was an all of sudden death out of no where. No last breath speeches. The atmosphere of desperation of Noble Team trying to escape the glassing, as if things could not get any worse, a Noble gets killed, the desperation reflected in Noble Team when they try to shoot the Elite Field Marshal. The music was amazing, with a complete silence as you heard the needle rifle round, and then the sad piano. Later you see Carter cerrying her body, and the rest of Noble in complete and utter silence in grief for Kat's death. Not even Emile had some witty remark.

I dont care what you guys say, that death was extremely well executed. My heart skipped a beat when I first saw it. You may not like Kat, but you cant deny that was one of the best deaths in the series.

If it was so sudden, why did I see it coming from a mile away? It seemed clear to me all of NOBLE died from the beginning of the game. Since the entire mission pretty much revolved around Kat's presence, especially the cutscene at the end when they put her in the spotlight more often, I could tell right away she was about to die.

Add onto the fact that there was virtually no mourning, time to reflect or anything worth reflecting on for that matter. She got shot in the head, died, and I felt no more sorrow for her death then if a particuarly wordy Marine were to have died.

The emotions in death scenes come from caring about the character first; everything else is secondary. If I don't care, no amount of piano will change that.

Personally I thought Jorge's death was kinda sad especially when the all those other super carriers appeared right after the one Jorge sacraficed himself to destroy. And he thought he was doing a huge thing.

Johnson's death was the saddest. Especially since he was with Master Chief since the begining. Also, the soundtrack when he dies was emotional.

Noble 6

Johnson, considering he was Chief's only 'friend' by any definition of the word.

Not until after reading the books again did I really register how sad his death was, because he became such a fleshed out character in the books.

Or Sif and Mack from Contact Harvest.

United Armed Forces

Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb.

Just a few good soldiers fighting for what's right made the difference.

Kurt. It was heroic, but still sad.

"Dude, what are you doing right now?"
"Uhh... Heh, my mom."
"Dude... What?"

Gage Yevgenny.

Probably the most bad ass as well.
