Play lone wolves- it teaches you how to handle situations where there are plenty of enemies surrounding you appropriately.
Also, play Team Snipers for well fun and improving your aim
And finally, play Team Slayer- it will help you become a team player.
Play with a mic and communicate at all times unless playing an FFA haha.
Also, play customs with people who may be better than you and try to learn how they play. This to me is the most important factor in learning how to be a good Halo 3 player. You need to know how a good player plays: How they strafe, if they quickscope or noscope, if they rush power weapons and how they do it (learn weapon spawning time)!
I hope this helps and if you ever want to play with me, then add me- PigIy WigIy. I don't have Halo 3 anymore but all my friends do so when I go to their house and play MM or Customs, feel free to join.
Hope this helped :)

Pioneer and Enthusiast for Halo 3.

Add people willing to play Customs with BR starts. Make sure that the people you play Customs with are not too ahead of you in skill. Otherwise, you'll get VERY frustrated and move on to a different game. Just remember to have fun and use common sense. You'd be surprised how many people don't use common sense in Halo.

Plasma Pistols are your most useful weapon 50 high, make sure to learn how to use them well at low levels and you will be sure to rank up fast. I tend to get between 15 and 20 plasma pistol kills per game playing at low levels. Just remember not to charge them up - go for kills using only the guns too.

Why is hypocrite spelled with an E at the end?
The I in crite is not pronounce as eye.

So, on the one hand I spell it out exactly as it should be.
You follow the standard set before you by fools who can't even get a handle on the rules of their own language.

Two's trick Team Slayer or just run 4s.

Or if you're a giant masochist, play MLG constantly, never quit, and try to figure out why you're dying so damn much.

Try watching some old MLG championship Sunday matches. While watching pay attention to how they move around the map.. where do they run to off of there first spawn. where do they hold there position. Watch how they work as a team of two using the bait and switch technique, one pops out puts some shots on an enemy, and then moves back into cover, your teammate then pops out and finishes the kill.

Pay attention to where they throw nades. watch how they bank the nades around corners, or how they use them to prevent an enemy from chasing them around the corner. then go into customs and practice banking nades and throwing them in the EXACT same spots you saw the pros do.

And lastly if you don't know or don't make call-outs.. LEARN them! If the teammates you tend to play with don't know them, teach them the call-outs as well. It is a huge advantage knowing where the enemy is coming from, and where they may be headed.

These aren't the Reach forums.

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

Of course, the best way to improve is to just play a lot. You may want to play another game, but dedication is the only way you'll get really good. Just play, and do your best to learn from your mistakes, or you'll just keep making them. Play with people who are better than you. Don't forget to loosen up and have fun, too! It sounds lame, but you'll just play worse and get frustrated easily if you're too uptight. Work hard to improve, too. Be willing to put in the time, and you'll see that rank rising. Hope this helps. Good luck!

50s in: Slayer, Doubles, Lone Wolves, Objective, Ranked BTB, Swat, Snipers.

Honestly, if you've played a significant amount of Halo already and you still have trouble playing in the 10s, you will never be good.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

As a level 44, I'm not the best, not even close, but I can tell you how I got to where I am.

To begin, know that you need use the Battle Rifle. Whether you like it or not, it's the most versatile weapon and can be used in 90% of you encounters. To use this effectively, you'll need to work on strafing and body shotting.

In close range, make awkward strafes while at medium range strafe from side to side in medium lengths to each side, maybe hold for close a second in each direction? This helps quite a bit. While strafing, go for 3-4 body shots to pop the shields and go for the head shot afterwards, or when the shield is bright yellow.

Lone Wolves, you've probably heard this a million times but it does help. It keeps you alert and able to deal with intense situations. Work on getting to level 30 in this playlist then swap to Team Slayer. You'll be a competent player able to handle himself. You'll be an invaluable asset to the team as they won't have to worry about you dragging them down.

The Brute Shot is also a weapon to become familiar with, it's devastating at close range so just go for a few shots and switch to BR to finish them off.

As well, practice you power weapon use in the early days of Team Slayer. Not too many low-level players are concerned with power weapons, so have you fun. You're familiar enough from LW and now you can pick off the less-skilled people and rank up faster. However, if you want to rank up past level 40 in Team Playlists, get a team because randoms usually fail as they have no co-ordination.

Send me a friend request and I can help you in Custom Matches. I'd love to help!

Boltshot = mini shotgun

Try customs with BR starts, or a competitive custom. The players you play with will probably be at your skill level.
That's all I can think of.

asking lvl 17 and above lol

  • 11.10.2011 5:16 PM PDT

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Im a 23, and i must say that the way i got there is by using all the same tactics as 'poorer' players

Such as camping with power weapons, AR rushing and just some luck

Also, the brute shot serves you well when you camp with it, one shot and then a melee with the blade to someone coming around the corner is effective

I can't wait for the day my hustle game don't gotta start this way.
AIM - c.ommview
Skype - Residue

Watch some gameplays on youtube, try to play like they do. Or play against better people in customs.
