"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

Stories involving people transcending differences caused by race, species and/or past histories. Maybe things like Cryptum, The Cole Protocol, Mona Lisa, Bloodline, Halo 2/3. Even though some of those are not about that specifically, they nevertheless contain them.

i.e. the opposite of Glasslands.

So you would enjoy a story about, for example (and this is just an example), a Palestinian ship helping out an Israeli ship because they're both humans and they realize they need to set aside their differences?

I'm just trying to figure out what you mean by what you say.

Then yes, something like that. My knowledge of that region of the Earth and its history is sketchy at best, but as I understand it (Can't be bothered researching either at 3AM so if I am wrong then so be it) the cause is due to religious injunctions from each faction giving ownership of a patch of land designated "Holy" to each faction. People killing each others children over soil. What is there not to despise about something so petty?

Halo: Reach and Ghosts of Onyx, and the first two Halo games. That is all.

Halo: Reach

This gave me a chuckle. I hope you're not talking about the game, Halo: Reach. That had no plot, broke canon, one-dimensional characters, etc...I don't know what you were playing.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

So what if he is talking about Halo: Reach? I understand the concept of people liking the game is far to hard for some to grasp, but give it some effort. Instead of being a snarky jerk, you could just ask him what he likes.

Oh wait, that requires decency and common sense.

Sigh, will you give it up? It got old after the first 10 times of you doing it.

Hell, even the guys who were almost as against it as you don't even bring this -blam!- up still.

In a bad mood, Cobra? You don't have to attack me and call me names. You're just making yourself look bad.

Funny you say that, Cmdr. Why don't you give up trying to defend Reach? You defend it as much as I oppose it. Don't be a hypocrite.

There is a difference between saying I like Reach, and outright putting somebody down implying they are an idiot because they don't like Reach.

And frankly, all my 'defending' Reach lately has been against you and those like you who hate it blindly.

Who exactly do I look bad to? Some of the newer, stupider members of the Universe and you? That means little to me. But I think it's you who is mad. I always felt that subconsciously, some of the people who attack those who like Reach do so because they get enjoyment out of Reach and they didn't.

Only real explanation to explain why you feel the need to call folks out because they like Halo: Reach.

Cmdr, there you go again saying I blindly hate Reach, which is completely laughable. We already had this discussion before.

Cobra, you're completely right. I attack Reach because I'm so jelly that people get enjoyment out of it and I don't. Hmpf! /sarcasm. I can lay out all the reasons why I don't like Reach, but because other people enjoy it? C'mon, are you serious?

Seal, why did you criticize Predkiller for liking Reach?

I don't remember it then, and also, I say you and others blindly hate reach because you attack those who like it, and anything said to support it is disregarded by you.

Case in point as shown by Anton.

Predkiller said he liked Reach, you basically attacked him viewpoint.

Blindly hating Reach would be saying that everything in the game is bad for no good reason. I back up my opinion with valid points. Also, I don't think everything in the game is bad. Assassinations, Customization, the reload animation. That was good. If I blindly hated Reach I wouldn't like it at all for no good reason.

And, oh my dear lord, it's called an opinion. I wasn't attacking the kid. But, there you go with your accusations. I stated my opinion on the story. I'm entitled to my own opinion whether you like it or not. So stop whining about it. Christ.

I'm sorry Seal, but this opinion sounds more like an attack then just going "I don't like Reach's campaign."

Especially after, you know, he singled out Halo: Reach even though Pred said Halo: Reach, Ghosts of Onyx, and the first two Halo games.

  • 11.11.2011 12:50 PM PDT

Well that's a tough question. I guess I like Halo CE and Cryptums stories. CE because I introduced us and was an all around nice story and Cryptum because Greg did a fantastic job with it. He pulled off creating a mystery to the timeless one perfectly.

Ghosts of Onyx was a spectacular piece of literature. I might add, even now, Primordium, Glasslands, and Cryptum pale in comparison...in my personal opinion that is. I'll be honest, I haven't yet read Glasslands, or Primordium, but from what I've heard, and the way Cryptum turned out, Ghosts of Onyx takes the cake.
