Honestly, I hate to use his term, but so many people are so irreversibly butthurt about bans they've received where they don't know why they were banned that they seem to view every slightly questionable moderation action as an injustice to the community at large.
More personal attacks. Has it ever occurred to you that people may criticise the way in which these fora are policed simply because they find that policing inadequate?

At the risk if being called a kiss ass (for what will seem to be the 50th time this week), people are way too hard on the group of Fourty-Two froum ninjas (only about 10 of which are active on a consitantly regular basis) that we have.
Then more moderators need to be recruited. It's easily done.

Nobody sitting here complaining would be any better a mod than the ones we have are. It's easy to criticize from the outside looking in.
Probably false, though it's less about the individuals than the culture they're encouraged to adopt when moderating. Moderators are given far too much leeway, such that rules are enforced and "offenders" penalised inconsistently.
