Grifball to me is a pretty fun game to play since I've gotten a hang of the techniques.
I like to play the Grifball playlist for fun, I don't worry about my kill/death, and I enjoy the experience.
Although, over the past couple of days I ran across a few pre-grouped teams of four that have figured out a way to tamper with the practical goal of the gametype in order to improve thier kill/deaths.
Camping. By the oppposite team side spawns. Three teammates, two placed on the left and right sides of the spawns, and one placed on the frontal area of the opposite team spawn.
Next Step.
SPAM THE HAMMER.
For the rest of the round these campers constantly pressed the slam trigger. Result? Neverending death/immobility. No chance at completing the objective.
The Positives: The Spawn Hammer Spammers get nice kill/deaths, legendary medals, a good laugh out of tons of free, easy to obtain beat downs, and immobile opposing players.
The Negatives: The Helpless Recievers. Literal innability to play in a usually recreational game. Instead they get to look at the 3 second countdown over and over again. No fun.
Anybody else experience a similar situation? Fairly frustrating right?
Some Notes
1. This happens fairly rarely (to me at least so far), not a constant impossible obstacle.
2. I will admit, something fairly comedical happened. After being spawn killed one time, I re-spawned on a location in Forge World nowhere around the designated play area, and was inable to return to the play area. Just saw a 10 second countdown and then I died. It was somewhere on the Hemorrhage landscape.
We won, but we could tell that the opposing Team got what they wanted out of it.
