I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

i remember being a sophomore in high school when it came out. None of my friends or i hung out after school that day like we normally would. We all went straight home to play the greatest halo ever. i played campaign for several hours so no one would ruin the story for me before i hoped online. Nerd.

Total Games: 8337 | Last Played: 4/14/2010 12:27:27 PM | Total Kills: 79993 | Total Deaths: 45892 | Total Assists: 18548
My final stats. Beat that. ;)

I'm super jealous. I didn't have Halo 2 until shortly before the shut down. I didn't even have an xbox until several years after Halo 3 made its release.

But i always played offline splitscreen with my friend at his house who bought the game several weeks after Halo 2's release. (maybe early december 2004.)offline 2 player on maps like midship, lockout, collossus, headlong, coagulation, zanzibar, ascension, waterworks.

Can anyone ever remember hating a certain map from Halo 2? I know I can't.

I have something special cooked up for this event... but it's not new at all. It's just big.

My goal is to get even more Elites at the Tartarus battle than ever before! If possible, 40 Councilors with swords!!

you were definitely a much better Halo 2 player than me - i had a negative k/d spread. thankfully, i've had a positive spread on each game since. but still - i loved halo 2 the best.

the campaign was excellent - and on legendary, some parts felt damned impossible. at the time, i didn't know a 3rd Halo was coming, so i couldn't believe i didn't "finish the fight" right there and then! but it was all good cuz Halo 2 MP was a revolution, baby!!

ah 2005, the glory days. HALO 2 was the peak of the HALO series for me, remember in year 7 i would go to my old friends house before and after school for a session of HALO 2: campaign in the morning, mind blowing multiplayer in the afternoon.

finished the campaign more times than i could remember, now that i think of it im suprised it never got boring (got over reaches campaign in a week and a half) HALO 2 has the best music in the series so far IMO

dual pistols... how miss pulling the LB and RB as fast as you can, its a shame not many people appreciated that weapon, the designs for pistols in other games after HALO 2 became sloppy, at least BUNGiE picked up agan in ODST

wish i never took the sword in HALO 2 for granted seeing as it gets worse after the release of each new HALO game.

neither can i my friend, long live coag, warlock, midship, turf, zanzibar, lockout - you know what, all of HALO 2s maps.

BUNGiE started slipping a bit in 3 with isolation, stand off, orbital and a few others i cant remember the name of but they lost it completely with reaches boardwalk and reflection (thinking of reflection gives me an unpleasant feeling)

the forge remakes where terrible, the area around the bases in hemorrhage should have been bigger, didnt feel like blood gulch.
at least 343i started to pick up on reaches multiplayer by remaking the all time favourite headlong

I loved dual wielding a pistol and a plasma rifle. Lower their shields with plasma rifle, headshot with pistol. It trumped the BR plasma pistol combo every time.

i loved duel wielding needlers... crappy gun, i know. but if you hit the triggers just right, it sounded like a pink machine gun.

Dbl Needlers were/are killers. To this day, if I play Arbiter on Legendary it's dbl needlers all the way.

I admit, I suck at using them. Whenever I find myself dual wielding Needlers, it's always hold down the triggers. I'm just too lazy/incompetent to rapidly tap the triggers.

In early 2006 I think, I played the entire campaign in one sitting every night for about 4 months. When the credits would come on, and the final song started playing, I would look at the back of my limited edition and think of all the feelings that image brought about before the game came out. All the expectations I had for the graphics, the environments, the art style; I felt disappointment, but I still loved the game for what it was.

i looked at my limited edition case to look at the back because i didn't remember there being an image there. There is though, and its pretty awesome.

On a related note i opened the case and to my surprise i found a bonus disc. i never viewed it because, well, i popped the Halo 2 disc into my xbox immediately after i bought it. Now i have something to watch later. Woot. 7 years later and this game keeps on giving. =D

Haha :D The Halo 2 collector's edition has the sickest, sleekest case I've ever seen for ANY media product. There's just something so chilling about the plain metallic look (especially if you have one of the rare darker ones) with the blue logo, the borders on the front and back, those precious words on the front, the name on the side, and that awesome black image on the back.

The bonus disc is pretty awesome, but the Making Of video was not what I was expecting at all. It may not have touched much upon the actual development so much as what it was like working on Halo 2 for those 3 years, but I actually really enjoyed how different it was because of that!

I'm about to go play Halo 2 because of this thread, and after it's over, I'm going to watch the bonus disc as well!

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Halo 2 was an online experience that has yet to be matched on any other console. It was awesomely addicting and downright groundbreaking for its time. Halo 2 changed online console gaming.

"I'll tell you right now, if you ever see someone called ll wa1do ll... leave the game immediately. My friend knows him, I've been in his party a few times, do not mess with this guy. From what I've heard, he's the real deal. I also heard someone made a guy named Wa2do (similar to his name) and then he hacked that guy and boosted off his level." -From Minou on Bungie.net

I wished I played this game online it sounds like a lot of fun. I was too lazy to download the map packs and I didn't know they were shutting down the servers.
