I'm just going to say it. OLD!!!!!!!! this game has been dead since gow 3

Newer games with a high hype will always have a higher population when they release. Gears 3 will stay up there for awhile, and MW3 will die fast as alot of people are already disappointed because it's *gasp!*: The same multiplayer crap over and over and over.

Skyrim will do well for sure. But that's the thing. Reach is a year old game contending with all these amazing new releases on a consistant basis. Back when H2 was king, there was hardly ANY games that could match with it multiplayer-wise. Now a days it's more about the fans staying loyal and if the gameplay is still fun. Obviously Reach still is doing well for all these games and the apparent "butthurt" fanbase that left.

not to burst your bubble or anything but mw3 doesn't play like any COD before it. besides, every cod game lasts about a year till the next one. and those who truly loved that cod will stick to it. im sticking to mw3. ill also play CEA and gears 3.

Pretty much this. H2 had no competition back yonder with that brand spanking new matchmaking service. Back when later challenging games like Killzone 1 were called halo killers.

Even halo 3 had relavitely no challenge, since it was the first next gen halo and released a few months before Cod4 which was still untested and yet to become what it is today.

Now you got Reach releasing some odd years later after the juggernaut MW2 had broken sales records many times over, with Black Ops expected to do the same 2 months after Reach.
Even Gears 3 has playlists hitting below 100 players, and it's what? 3 months old?
Huge amount of players are just jumping from game to game.

It's a different playing field, but it don't mean it's dead for Halo. Just nowhere near the golden days.
I'm wondering when people will just realise this and start to enjoy things again without worrying bout popularity.
