We are determined that before the sun sets on this terrible struggle our flag will be recognized throughout the world as a symbol of freedom on the one hand and of overwhelming force on the other.

Also known as Buggers, or Yanme'e, commonly used as mechanics and light assault infantry, are a populous species in the Covenant.

But, I have some questions;

Being "bugs" how did Covenant leaders transport and deploy them? For instance, are they kept in cages on Covenant ships? Or let to fly freely?

Are they deployed by Phantom or Spirit? Or dropped from the ship in atmosphere?

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

I am assuming they could just fly around since they were suppose to maintain a ship. The thing is since they are hive minded they would have moved around in groups i doubt you would see single drones around much.

And in the games you can clearly see them deployed from phantoms.

avid forger, love vehicle gameplay

They are typically deployed via phantom, as seen in Halo 3's level "The Storm", when you are attacked by drones. There is a phantom overhead, and the drones flee to it whn most of them have been killed, suggesting they're carried in via drophip, and let loose near the battlezone. I belive thaat drones are also allowed to roam free in covenant ships, being as how keeping those who will have access to vital components of your ship in cages might not be the best idea...

Thank you for the insight.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

I always thought of the Drones and being given the same standard living quarters as the other Covenant, but instead of using like they're supposed to they would build hives inside it. So basically I think they live like bees or wasps, in nests that can be built pretty much anywhere.

As for rounding them all up, they are deployed in Phantoms so I think the Covenant probably originally got them all by cages. I don't think they're much smarter than dogs. They can be taught "simple" things (like shooting an enemy, for instance) but do not understand why they do it or what they're doing at all.

Doubt it, if they were not that smart then they wouldn't be used as engineers in ships and other facilities.
