I was a finalist :P

The FAQ has some intel. It might help your situation a little.

I work for the Department of Defense.

Stop trying.

Groups are really a dead part of bungie, people will argue that, whatever.

I have never ever seen the point of groups, to me it's just a place for people dying to hold power over others. (Seems like you fit that well, deny it if you wish(.

In terms of getting it more popular? You cant. Advertising is against the rules within forums that people actually look at, (despite your little plug there).

No, not really. Over so much time, if your group is interesting and can attract people, the group will grow and become much more popular.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I get group invites all the time and I don't join unless like the groups have a lot of people and are active.

There is a MASSIVE section of the community that only posts in private groups.

Send messages advertising your group to everyone you see on the forums.

I would suggest making a thinly veiled advertising attempt in the form of another thread.

I lol'd.

If you're a gaming group, organize game nights and play w/ each other.
Try forum games. Those are always fun.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

What he meant to say is that they don't last long as there is an inherent lack of any real foundation. I'd challenge that a group of strangers would be quite interesting, but if nobody you know is close to you and sincere, your chapter won't develop.

A would advise you to invite a few personal staff members whom you know would be loyal to you and your chapter as well as a few "normal" people to fill in the sustenance gap.

Wait till Bungie announces their next IP and breathes life back into this rather dormant site.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

If you're just looking for people for the sake of having a group, getting a big member count, having power over people, etc. then you're doomed from the start. A good group needs a good reason for existing, something that the members have in common.

I am sure you are doing a lot of this already:

1. Recruiting friends
2. Contests
3. Polls
4. Weekly updates
5. Alliances
6. A niche (a theme or activity that sets your group apart)
7. RPG
8. Active spam thread
9. Forum game threads
10. Promotion for adding your advertisement to a member's signature

Why are you reading my signature? Who actually opens these things and reads them!

And as always, SEND ME A PM. Please. Or really bad things will happen to you.

Running a group isn't as fun as you'd think. I almost had a popular group but checking the forum there takes too many clicks and so eventually my inactivity killed it.

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

Don't forget you can also try staging your group in a spam battle with a group of hackers to save another group, therefore earning your group more attention, OP.

Although it doesn't always work... >_________>
