So, let's say the other team has better players than yours. They manage to destroy all of your team's vehicles with theirs damaged, but intact. You want to be fighting them off with one DMR to pass between eight people, no sniper at all, and AR starts? Terrible idea.
OP just got WORKED!! Only an idiot would want AR starts on any BTB map.
Nope. DMR's shred vehicles to little bits. If we want vehicle based combats, why would we have giant anti vehicle weapons everywhere? That demotes vehicle combat. Blood Gulch is a map made for vehicles. AR's do not shred vehicles, so they would be great for promoting the vehicle play. You can't do -blam!- with an AR, so get in a vehicle and wreck some havok!
You just don't get it do you? With AR starts a good team will wreck your vehicles 1st and now you have a measly AR with which to stop the opposing team who have all their vehicles. With the ridiculous spawns on this map they will proceed to zoom over your spawnpoints with the Ghost/Revenant getting Splatters, the Wraith can hold down one specific spawn location while the 2 warthogs circle around picking people off that the others miss. And then the Sniper can keep your team getting the precious DMR/Sniper sitting on top of your base. Good luck with your "awesome vehicle based combat" then.
Hmm. Doesn't this happen even without vehicles? Yes, it's called spawntrapping. Many people do it. Why can they pull it off? Because they're good. In the game, by closing in on the other team, they earned the spawntrap. Because they were clearly better than the other team.
What makes it so different with vehicles? It's just that you use vehicles instead of guns to trap them in. That's how the game works.
