Is it against the rules to post a mod on here?

I recently posted another one of my 'Covenant Campaign' mods in the flood and people started whining because I'm going to get 'banned'.

The mod is for Halo PC. I don't see how posting a modification forbidden on this forum.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

You ask this same question every five days...

Maybe they didn't realise Halo PC and Halo: Custom Edition exist.

I still avidly play the latter.

I don't keep up with the rules; but as long as it isn't about giving yourself an unfair advantage on other players (campaign mods?), I don't see a problem with it.

I wouldn't post that stuff though.

Yes, I AM just that awesome.

The rule is unauthorized modification. I'd say you're authorized to mod Halo PC/CE, people talk about Fallout/TES mods all the time in the Flood.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

"authorized mods", what do you mean?

Lets take minecraft for example, Notch allows users to make mods, so can we talk about any mods for minecraft?

Authorized mods are mods that are seemingly harmless.

I knew I was allowed to post authorized mods. People here just don't know what 'authorized' mean.

Thanks, everyone.

Was my 'Covenant Campaign' mods authorized?

Basically mods which don't violate the developer's EULA. When you sign up to play a game online, there's usually some prompt that you have to agree to in order to play that game. The EULA (End User License Agreement) dictates what the developer's will allow in as far as what they will let you alter in their copy-written code, and what you can't.

I don't know anything about Minecraft, so I can't answer your question Ken.

As far as I know Notch has not said no to any type of mod. So you could probably talk about any minecraft mod/ plugin you'd like. However, I am not a mod nor in a position of power so do so at your own risk.

It's on the PC. So you're fine, don't worry. Yes, that particular mod is authorized. It's just a reskinning, was it not? Not a big deal. Don't fret about it, friend.

As a rule of thumb, mods that only effect campaign or other offline modes are generally ok. It's when you start modding things that give you an unfair advantage in online multiplayer that developers start getting angry (and for good reason).

So yes your Covenant Campaign mod, assuming it lives up to its name and is a campaign mod is ok.
