More than likely they just have an admin's password and login info, and just go in to make setting changes, then scream (OMG ur hacked!).

If you're worried, change all your passwords for admin accounts on the group.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

Nobody has hacked bungie.net. If your group is taken over, it is almost certainly because someone granted a malicious user admin powers.

Further questions about bungie.net's security measures can be answered like so: "no comment."

my group has recently been destroyed, and the culprit made a placeholder for it, so I asked Achronos for help...he refused, saying that it's my fault for giving him security permissions (like boot/demote/promote members) in the first place.
the truth is, the culprit hacked into one of my leader's accounts, and booted everybody, including me. that is not my fault, and for anyone who says that it might've been the leader...the leader in question was a very trusted leader that I know would never turn his back on me, and has proven so many times in the past.

The possibility of one of your leaders being corrupt is much higher than the possibility that somone "hacked" their account. From now on, remember the golden security rule:

Unless someone is sitting next to you, do not give them any admin powers.

This way, you can personally kick their ass if they "misbehave".

its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

How to protect your group....

Never give a security role with full control...

Never give a security role with blacklisting control...

Why? He could give out his password, and may be with cahoots with the culprit...

Well said. And thank you Archronos. Yesterday, I was reading the material on Ideal Science's site...and I came to the conclusion that any sort of hack was unlikely at best. And I'm sure you pretty much would own any hax0r anyways. =D

Cheers,

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Thankyou!

Im sick of kids making threats about how they can hack or how they know someone who can.

There is also your password.

Remember all they need is your email address and password for your net passport and wolah, they become you.

So hacking mabey through spyware or something but this would probibly be more like a case of ID theft. Check your passport, doubile check your leaders. and if there is more than 1 (including you) that has had full control then you know who the prims suspect on here is.

Never trust anyone on the net!

Not really, but B.net doesn't need to be. The users here aren't exactly 007

Skillet was here and referred to himself in the third person.

There is ONE person with admin powers icluding me in my group. And he does a fine job. AND I've never had those kinds of problems. So basically your group could only be destroyed by you...and the only person that would even WANT to mess with your group is somebody that hates you. Or maybe they just want to mess with your mind. But they could use spyware to see what your password is and then log in to screw with your group...but they would want to do more important things...like steal your credit card numbers.

Hardly anyone has any knowledge of how bungie.net works. Or, rather, how Ideal Science works. phpBB is much easier to hack, and halo2sucks.com wasn't really the Fort Knox of web servers.

-TGP-

Very true. H2S is of course a phpBB site which anyone can hack given the right research. They've been hacked at least 5 times with ease. (script kiddies). There is nothing they or anyone else can do about this. Unfortunately the hackers are always one step ahead much like modders.

That n00b is Blaze 921. And the supposed "hacker" is me. He started rumors about Bungie.Net groups being hacked and deleted by me. Anyone with proper science and logic would know that can't be true with Achronos around.

The old B.net WAS in fact hacked on at least one occasion. It was Marty's Marty Army group, some script kiddie went in and changed a few of the question and answer dates and quotes. This was, of course, before the chapter upgrade, and I haven't seen anything like it happen since.

Lol, I am the admin with another guy in my group. He went away for the weekend, and he kept editting posts and stuff so I demoted him as a joke. He will be promoted back as soon as he figures it out. and if he doesn't then... thats his fault.
