Subject: MLP threads should be against the rules.

Seriously it's getting annoying

Coup threads = lock because there is a group for it and it spams the forums.

My Little Pony threads = open and hot topic because there is a large group for it and it spams the forums.

WHY

I am talking about in The Flood forum..
Sorry for the blam I quoted someone I removed it.

They're generally deleted when they reach critical mass.

That's why there's a poll going on that's in flame war stage that has 130 something replies.

  • 11.09.2011 8:13 PM PDT

I agree. They should be locked and a warning sent to the OP. They offer no constructive arguments, and usually end up in a flame war.

There's nothing wrong with my little pony as a topic, no matter how lame it is.

  • 11.09.2011 8:18 PM PDT

Key

It's not going to be made against the rules. Its a legitimate topic of discussion for he flood forum, as well as a fad. The latter, by definition, will pass with time. Patience is a virtue, and a necessity.

There's no discussion in it, it's always a flame war, they have a group for it, it's just as bad as religion/politic threads.

There still isn't anything wrong with the topic (one second while I go burn something); just the people the commonly (or always) make it.

Banning them won't make them go away.

We already had a thread about this forever ago

Personally, I don't think we should put a "ban on pony threads."

Some people legitimately like My Little Pony. I don't understand it. I'm not going to attempt to understand it. However, I will treat those topics with the same respect that any other topic in The Flood deserves, as long as it follows the forum rules.

Admittedly, I do not voluntarily go into My Little Pony threads, simply because I can't think of a single thing that would interest me in those threads. I think a lot of people would be better off if they adopted the same approach, rather than make "drive-by attacks" on those who want to discuss it.

With that said, if anyone ever feels like they're being harassed in any thread, including MLP threads, feel free to report it to a moderator. I can't promise that I'll get to it right away, but I don't mind going through those threads if people are being jerks; however, some of you use the terms "trolling" and "flaming" a little too loosely. I think I have a pretty strict interpretation as to what constitutes as harassment, but sometimes it seems like people are reaching a little bit, even for my standards.

Topics like this come and go. A year ago it was "ban all Beiber threads," before that it was, "ban all Rock vs Rap threads." This is an ongoing trend in The Flood. Eventually, MLP will be off the hot seat and you guys are going to want us to ban another topic. Believe it or not, people want to legitimately talk about things that they like, even if you can't understand why they like it. Those topics shouldn't receive any special treatment, either.

Goodbye...

I agree.

Coup threads should go in the group. They get locked as soon as a ninja sees one.

MLP thread should go in the group. They only get locked when they become major flame wars.

The key difference is that most people like coup threads. Almost all non-bronies hate MLP threads, and many bronies hate them too, as the threads give them bad reputations.

The same could be said for most threads though, as there are groups for most things. Are you saying we shouldn't have rap threads because there is a group for that? As well as no Battlefeild, Minecraft, etc. because there are all groups for that as well.

@trueunderdog

Chapter

Narwhallace Smithington: Gone, but not forgotten. Never approve of anything lil guy. <3
Furious George: The new -blam!-

Coup threads are locked because there's an existing thread that clearly states:

ALL Greasemonkey scripts and browser extensions MUST BE posted and discussed in this thread ONLY.

Please point me to these massive, active groups where people can discuss these controversial topics without getting flamed.

In my opinion, if it's controversial, it should be discussed in a private group.

Random question: Why are furry threads always locked? I've seen several rule-abiding ones locked in the last few months.

I'm trying to make a point here. If controversial furry threads get locked, why don't controversial MLP threads get the same treatment?

Could you please help me out by linking or mentioning a topic that has been locked for only being a furry topic. I'm sure there's a reason.

Learn to accept people interest.

Any topic could start a flame war. Yes I do find it annoying home many brony thing the flood is their personal forum. Their threads should be lock but no ban given just warnings. If they do it 3 times then the ninja can ban them.

I don't save them. I'll have to wait until one pops up.

Just ignore it. My little Pony threads are not that bad if you just ignore them.

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

Want to know some big irony? The group dedicated to MLP doesn't create them. The Flood loves to make themselves rage and the bronys are the innocents that take the blame.

Like I said in the other thread. More of these complaint threads than the threads you are complaining about. 4 of these threads on the first two pages. One thread about the one you are complaining Bout.
