Subject: If you like the TU changes ....

Planking : Parkour for people who don't move very fast.

Looks like you'll either have to buy CEA, or pony up 1200 MSP for the CEA map pack to play them. And according to the Waypoint Bulletin, those game types will only be in Anniversary Squad, BTB, and FFA. The bulletin also does not mention the TU changes being applied to the rest of Reach, so unless they plan to surprise us, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the way it will stay.

And look on the bright side, all those of you who said "Good players are getting punished, because we only get one playlist." Well, now you have 3. You just gotta pay to play them.

Nothing different than paying for ODST or the Mythic map packs.

Save for the fact that those worked all across Halo 3, sure. But hey, if you want to drop 40 bucks for a game, or 1200 MSP for the maps just to play Reach with the TU settings, on maps that aren't Reach maps, go for it.

  • 11.09.2011 8:21 PM PDT

THATS MY COOL MAN I CAN'T TAKE IT OFF!

I'll drop the $40 for remastered campaign and the return of my babies (Dammy and Prisoner), because I'm an idiot and I don't know when to cut the cord with something that's clearly on the way down.

Its the same thing.

Paying $40 for campaign and a map pack for the current games multiplayer, or a bunch of points for just the map pack.

And since someone is going to ask for the link to the bulletin.

Edit to eRage : So you think paying money for the TU changes that people wanted soooooooooo much to be across the whole game, just to be able to play them in 3 playlists, on just the CEA maps is fine? So be it. I have a feeling people will be inclined to disagree.

just looking to have fun, message me if you want to play

i don't see anywhere that it says the TU changes will be relegated only to the anniversary playlists...

All it says is that the playlists will have the TU changes.

And I see nowhere where it says they won't. Something like that, 343i would announce it as soon as they could, anything to try to save this sinking ship.

Yes, for 1200 MSP.

  • 11.09.2011 9:22 PM PDT

If I understand it right, the proposed changes (reduced bloom, nerfed AL, etc) will only apply to a few playlists, while the rest of Reach matchmaking stays as it is? It seems such a weird and confusing way to implement a title update, and will only fragment the community even further. I admire 343 for trying to please everyone, but really, the changes should just be right across all playlists. Any player, good or bad, appreciates consistency. You don't want to keep adjusting yourself to different settings depending on what playlist you go into.

The default maps in Reach are the worst the series has ever seen. I won't miss them...

It's worth paying for H:CEA just to get to play the campaign in all its HD remastered glory. Being able to play TU settings on new maps is just a bonus (and a bonus that makes Reach bareable too).

  • 11.10.2011 4:40 AM PDT

Agreed the TU changes need to stay in their own gametypes and not infect the rest of reach thus making reach even worse than it is. Only changes that should go into other gametypes are the armor lock modifications.

they just come with the map pack which will eventually be integrated into full scale matchmaking just like everyother map pack.

CEA is the campaign, the matchmaking is reach's

I'd assume stuff like the AL nerf and 85% bloom will go into standard Reach since neither of those things apply to CEA/Classic gameplay in general. Zero Bloom and the destroying pistol however, will definitely be Classic only.

no. i would buy CEA just for the maps and not even touch campaign, but since u can buy the maps separately theres no reason to buy CEA. unless you're a noob and like campaign mode, let alone recycled campaign.

Exactly. The remastered Halo CE campaign would be like 20-25 bucks, then 15 for the maps,$40 is a good deal for it.

Does this mean if I want to play the new maps, they will only work on the new playlists? And not in Team or Squad Slayer?

According to 343, the maps will work with both the old and new settings for the muiltplayer, there will be a custom sever that will have the remaster Halo pistol, either one is likely, hard to say, probally both, think it like DLC content, which means i hope they fixed the problem with the Reach DLC limit, you all remember that with Defiant.
