I want you to count every single Jackal Sniper you kill.

Oracle is tough, no doubt about it. I use a sword and either the carbine or Sentinel Beam, whichever is laying around. The Sentinel Beam I only use for Sentinels and there's just enough of the sword to get you to the bottom.

There's a transition room between the area where the Famine skull is and the outside where you see those fat floods that blow up. Stay away from that room and nade the guys who come out of it, then when you go in no other enemy's will come. Is that the place you are talking about?

If you mean the big room with the turrets then I like to stay up on the Famine skull side and use primarily the Sentinel Beam and grab another sword on the lower floor.

If you have a tough time, SlidingGhost has a cool place where he can be safe and still kill what he needs to in order to get the elevator down.

The part that I'm worried about is the room that he enters at 9:05. I'm actually not too worried about the elevator part, because you receive a handful of checkpoints along the way.

Too late haha. On Outskirts and Metropolis, I'm pretty sure I killed at least 10 Jackal Snipers on each level.

Let the Flood win then deal with them. When the Carbine Heretics come... that's the climax of difficulty. Beat them and the rest is a piece of cake. I actually started testing this part. I would hide under the platform with the turret but it didn't turn out so well. :(

Lol, I'm not amazing or anything. Over the past few years, I've had enough experience with Halo campaigns to do relatively well (for the most part) on harder difficulties, but by no means would I consider myself amazing.

Anyways, I completely forgot about the Heretic battle at the end of The Oracle, lol. That would be another part that I feel will be especially difficult. I will probably give it a go either tonight or tomorrow. Almost a third of the way through the campaign, wort wort!

<------Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 emblem.

I tried to complete Halo 2 on Legendary - it's difficult, but my journey ended when I got a disc read error on Delta Halo...I haven't been able to fix the disc since. I'm quite mad that Halo 2 game saves don't transfer from console to console unless one buys a transfer kit, which is $20 and of limited use.

Hey everyone! I apologize for the delay, I know I had said that I would take on The Oracle on Saturday or Sunday, but I was really busy with school the previous two nights.

Anyways, I played through The Oracle, and the only real problem I ran into was the boss battle with the Heretic Elite leader. It only took me about 10 or 15 minutes, but I sure had my fair share of deaths. The only hard part for me was when he sends out several holograms of himself, and I had a lot of trouble with figuring out who was the real Heretic.

The elevator part wasn't too bad, and I even managed to keep one of my Elites alive all the way through the ride.

The part I was most worried about (the part after the elevator) was way easier than I thought it would be. All I did was camp in a corner and wait for the Flood Combat Forms to rush me, lol. Then I used Active Camo to sneak past the Heretics at the end of the room.

Cutting the three cables was probably the easiest part of the mission, so not any problems there.

Trying to escape was pretty easy for the most part, since I just used Active Camo to sneak by enemies at the right time. I swear that thing has saved my ass so many times, lol.

Anyways, I believe that Delta Halo is the next mission. Any tips?

Well, I just finished Delta Halo. It was relatively easy, and the only real trouble I had was when you have to destroy the Banshees on one side, and the Ghost on another side with the Scorpion. My shots were finally decisive enough to destroy everything and reach a checkpoint.

Driving with the Scorpion was pretty easy as long as I stayed back. Rather than go to enemies, I let them come to me (Ghosts especially).

The part of the level called "Off the Rock, Through the Bush, Nothing But Jackal" actually wasn't too difficult because I gave two of my allies Beam Rifles, and another a Rocket Launcher (which was very useful). The only trouble I had was with the last two or three Jackal Snipers in the area, and the Drones were a little tough as well.

The part with the four Elite Honor Guards was very easy, since I just let them come to me, and then I would snipe them, backing away, until they were defeated.

I also decided to play a bit of Regret, and I am currently at the part where you ride the first Gondola, or whatever it's called. I stockpiled a huge pile of Beam & Sniper Rifles, Carbines, Battle Rifles, and Plasma Pistols. I definitely don't think I'll need all of it, (in fact, I know I won't need all of it) but I just did it anyways.

One of the parts I'm really worried about are when there is an area with Hunters and Jackal Snipers. I believe it is also pretty dark in this area, to make things even less convenient.

And obviously I am worried about the part where you have to kill Regret. Not necessarily because of Regret, but because I believe that there are infinitely-spawning Elite Honor Guards.

It's hard to think that I'm about halfway through my Legendary run. To be honest, I didn't think that I would get this far, lol. I thought for sure that I would not be able to get through Outskirts or Metropolis because of all the damn Jackal Snipers. Gotta keep pushing through, though!

Take out the snipers first, get the Hunters close to each other, stick 1 with a plasma grenade, snipe the orange flesh when he turns around, another plasma grenade, snipe.

I like the Fuel Rod for the snipers and I just run up the left elevated side and just go in the door at the end which bypasses the Hunters after you spawn them. The Hunters aren't that bad in H2 imo.

The fuel rod gun's on this level?

Huh? They can be bypassed? It's been a while since I've played Regret.

Fuel Rod is with the sleeping little Grunt at the middle tower up high (inside).

As you enter the Hunter room hook left or right and go up, kill along the way. At the end stay up, go up once more and there's a door leading down to the next room. Hunter's are left at the alter.

Note: womyfts would scoff at me bypassing the Hunters.

Thanks for the help, that's pretty much what I did. I killed an Elite with an Energy Sword, a couple of Jackal Snipers, and then I just ran out of the room from above, dropping and running past the Hunters. I got a checkpoint after I killed one of the Hunters, so it wasn't bad at all.

I had quite a bit of trouble with Banshees on the Gondola, since it was taking more than four shots to destroy both of the Banshees. The part with the Jetpack Elites and Fuel Rod Grunts was also pretty difficult, since I got a checkpoint in one of the worst spots ever. Eventually I mustered through, though.

It took me around 5 or 10 minutes to kill Regret. Even with the infinitely spawning enemies always on my ass, it wasn't too bad as long as I kept running to higher elevation after I delivered a blow to Regret. It was also very helpful to look on the sensor for his location and then to jump down onto his chair.

Onto Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone. For Sacred Icon, I think that I am probably just going to run through the whole mission (except for the holdout area outside). I actually like some of the Arbiter's missions a lot just because of the stealthy feel.

For Quarantine Zone, I am probably going to drive a Ghost through all of the vehicular combat, otherwise I will continually get my ass handed to myself. I know at the end of the level, there is a hiding spot where you can wait out a large firefight with the Flood, but I haven't decided if I'm going to be a coward or be a man, lol.

Yeah, good writeup. I can't remember if I fought all the Flood and won on the Gondola or not (Legendary). Most times I chickened out because it gets pretty rough, they keep coming from below. Heh, I reasoned that if I were a soldier in a war and I had enemy troops coming at me I'd probably want to climb up somewhere and hide. That way the mission gets done rather than hero stuff. It's fun to try though, once in a while.

SI is cloak and run, it's crazy to try and kill everyone for me and that last fight before QZ starts can be a doozy.

Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone: Done!

I didn't have any trouble at all on Sacred Icon, the only trying part was the firefight with the Flood at the end, but even that was pretty easy.

Quarantine Zone was a little more difficult, however. I sped past everything in a Ghost, but towards the beginning, I kept getting killed by Rocket Launcher Flood Combat Forms. Damn them and their lock-on RL's...I finally evaded them and the Scorpion in the next section after a few minutes, though.

I ended up chickening out of the large Flood battle at the end, just for the sake of this being my first Legendary run on Halo 2, but I will try it eventually. I will probably never try to destroy every vehicle on Quarantine Zone, though. Scorpions, Wraiths, Gauss Warthogs, Enforcers, RL Flood Combat Forms, and Ghosts? Lol, no thank you!

Anyways, onto Gravemind! I have to say, this is definitely one of my favorite levels in the whole Halo series. I don't know if I will love it as much though on Legendary. Any tips or things that I should look out for in this level?

Marines can be helpful on this level. Keep them alive by blocking the grav lifts with supply cases. When I was in perma camo, they whupped ass against the Elites and Drones. I was shocked.

Of course, I did give them carbines. That might have something to do with it.

When you reach the Hunters, the marines are sure to be killed so block the door with the nearby supply case, bypass or kill the Hunters, and you can come back later and bring them. Or just forget about them from this point.

Thanks for the advice. I gave them Carbines and Needlers and they kicked everything's ass that came down the lift. Eventually they did all die, though, but they were very helpful.

Anyways, I completed Gravemind on Legendary, and I have to say, this is the hardest level I've faced yet.

The beginning part actually wasn't too difficult, it just required a lot of patience. I would hide up above with Double Needlers and a Carbine and try to take everything out. Every once in a while, I would climb down to get more ammo, so I would leave one Plasma Pistol Grunt alive, refill, then climb back up and kill it, giving me a checkpoint and spawning the next wave of enemies.

Rescuing the Marines wasn't too hard, either, and, like I said, they were very helpful when I gave them Needlers and Carbines.

The first hard part I faced was with the two Hunters in a room. It took me several tries to kill them both, and while I could just run past them, I wanted to kill them both so that I could get a checkpoint.

I didn't have too much trouble with the fighting outside, I just made sure to take out the Jackal Snipers first.

The room toward the end filled with Covenant Loyalists and Covenant Separatists was challenging, but with a Fuel Rod gun, it only took me about five minutes to take everything out. This is the room where Cortana suggests that the Chief should sit the battle out.

Immediately after that battle, I walked out of the room, and there were about six or seven Elites, and a couple of them were wearing Active Camo. I was getting really frustrated, because even with a Fuel Rod gun, it took me about ten minutes to finally kill them all. If I didn't have a Fuel Rod gun, there was no way I would survive, and I would probably consider starting the level all over.

Anyways, after all of that chaos, I also decided to take on Uprising, and I completed that level as well. It was challenging throughout the level, but I generally didn't feel too overwhelmed. The exception was towards the very end of the level. It's once you go to the room with the ammo stash, and then you go through the cave-like structure. I believe a couple of enemies in vehicles drive through, along with many on foot. Although it wasn't necessarily really difficult at any given point, the time from my last checkpoint to the end of the level was almost ten minutes. If I messed up in any one section during that time, I would have to start all over again. I finally completed that part in about 25 minutes or so, and my heart was skipping as I was walking into the cave because of the multiple waves of enemies that spawn inside. When I finally killed every enemy in that cave and that cutscene finally ensued, it was definitely the most relieving one in my whole Legendary run, lol.

Anways, only one more level each for Arby n' the Chief. I'm definitely not looking forward to High Charity since it's one of my least favorite missions in the whole Halo series (thankfully, it is rather short). Isn't it funny how one of my favorite missions in the game and one of my least favorite missions in the game take place in the same location, consecutively (for Master Chief)? I really dislike High Charity because I hate navigating some of the dark corridors and outside areas. It's like the mission Keyes on Halo: CE all over again...*shivers* Any tips, other than don't get lost?

I could never get past that part without perma camo.

For that part, I would hoard beam rifles from the previous area. Once you pick up a weapon, it will never disappear.

Uprising is a pain in the ass level when played normally. I couldn't stand the encounters and I raged for hours when I was trying to get the Ghost skull.

Typical Bungie. :P

The best way is to skip, skip, skip. The group of Brutes requires some grenades and a rocket launcher. But it is very difficult to get the rocket launcher without getting killed by the Flood. Try watching Xlax007's Iron skull guide.

Thanks again, Sliding Ghost! I did use some of those tips in that video, and they proved to be very helpful. Anyways, High Charity was probably the easiest mission in the game, and no doubt the shortest one as well. The part where there are about four Brutes before you go up the first lift was difficult at first, but then I decided to let the Flood spawn and take them out. Afterwards, the Flood won the battle against the Brutes, and then I drew them outside and took out the survivors.

Immediately after that lift, I used the Beam Rifle to take out all of the Drones and Flood Combat Forms. That part was relatively easy as well.

The two outside parts were, although very creepy, very easy because I just ran through everything. I believe that during both runs outside in the creepy darkness, I ran into only one enemy, and that was a Flood Combat Form.

The room where the Covenant are on one side, and the Flood are on the other was definitely the most difficult part of the mission. After I came up the lift, I immediately climbed up a Flood Pod and hid inside, away from enemy fire. I let the Flood spawn and eventually they took out all of the Covenant. It was funny because a couple of Flood forms spawned right in front of me, which caught me off guard a bit, but they didn't see me, lol. As soon as I hit a checkpoint, I ran down and tried to get to the other room, but I died before the door opened. I tried again, this time trying to lower the Flood in numbers by using the Carbine and grenades, and once again, I made a run for the door. I managed to go through without having all of my shields drained, but, nonetheless, it was a very close call.

The very last part of the mission was very easy. After the lift stopped moving, I ran to the left and climbed inside a small platform. I started walking across, and I noticed a Jackal Sniper, so I took him out before he could notice me. Then I dropped down, and made a run for the very end part of the level. I had tons of Brutes firing their Brute Shots towards me, but I evaded them. Then, a Flood Combat Form landed a couple of Shotgun rounds on me, but I kept moving forward. Thankfully, the cutscene began before I could die, lol.

Afterwards, I decided to take on The Great Journey. Everything up until the Tartarus battle was relatively easy.

At the beginning, I noticed that my allies in the Wraith were invincible (I think it was Rtas 'Vadum). Anyways, I used that to my advantage and had him take out the Wraiths, while I drove the Spectre around and had my gunner destroy the Ghosts. I was surprised that my gunner lasted during the whole firefight, but I guess that was probably because I proceeded with caution.

Anyways, the areas inside were pretty easy as well. The only challenging part there was the room with all of the Brutes, where the Covenants Separatists are trapped behind shielded doors. I only died a couple of times, but all of my allies died, except for one. It didn't really matter though, because the Banshee part is immediately afterwards.

Anyways, the Banshee part was challenging, but again I proceeded with caution, and it worked to my advantage. After Johnson destroys the front door with the Scarab gun, I drove my now tattered Banshee through the entrance, and then I drove past the Brutes.

Since I decided to not be cheap by using the Banshee, the Tartarus battle was easily the most difficult boss battle for me. Sure, it was pretty easy to evade him, but one slip-up, and I had to start over. The fact that Brutes kept spawning was also very annoying. It took me a good half an hour to finally defeat him.

Anyways, my weapons of choice against Tartarus were duel-wielded Brute Plasma Rifles (I mean, they're right there, Bungie had to put them there for a reason, lol).

I was able to get Tartarus with his shields down a few times until all of the other Brutes began to show up. After that, I just played cat-and-mouse with Tartarus and the Brutes. If I felt overwhelmed, I would use Active Camo and go up the lift or fall down to the previous level. Sometimes, Johnson would take Tartarus' shields down when I was a level above, and then I would fire Plasma Rifle bursts at Tartarus like a madman. This happened again, but this time, Tartarus tumbled to the floor like the dumb ape he is. I immediately jumped down and proceeded to t-bag him to the Arbiter's content. Tartarus was Tartarus no more, but rather Tartar Sauce...

Anyways, that wraps up my first Legendary run on Halo 2! Thanks for all of the support and keeping me going during this journey, no matter how discouraged I became at any given point.

If you have any questions about my Legendary run, I will be more than happy to answer them.

It feels odd to have completed every Halo game on Legendary Solo (with the exception of Halo Wars and Halo Anniversary, which is essentially Halo: CE). I will probably get Halo Anniversary for Christmas, though (I'm really looking at getting Skyrim, too), so I will try Legendary again, but I will not be making another thread, seeing how I just made a thread about my first Legendary run in the Halo: CE forum, lol.

Peace out, fellas!

Thanks again, Sliding Ghost! I did use some of those tips in that video, and they proved to be very helpful.
No problem. :) Indeed, Xlax's guides are very helpful.

The fact that Brutes kept spawning was also very annoying. It took me a good half an hour to finally defeat him.
That only happens when you damage him yourself. What I would have done is cloned Johnson with the Spectre. It may be cheap but it gets the job done. Also make sure Johnson is allowed to go to the ledge or no Elites will spawn.

Anyways, my weapons of choice against Tartarus were duel-wielded Brute Plasma Rifles (I mean, they're right there, Bungie had to put them there for a reason, lol).
Any plasma rifle is a sword against Brutes... and all things evil!!

Sounds like you enjoyed this one.

Anyways, that wraps up my first Legendary run on Halo 2! Thanks for all of the support and keeping me going during this journey, no matter how discouraged I became at any given point.

Congratulations! Grumpy would be pleased.

Now that you have finished Legendary, it's either retirement or leisure time, Mythic, or tricking. Which would you prefer?

Losing your sanity is an option?
