There's too many things to go with so I keep messing up and either dying or losing Tartarus to Johnson's beam rifle. This is for H2's 7 year anniversary btw. I'm nocturnal so I have plenty of time to do this.

If you voted all of the above, in which order?

And should I bother giving Elites swords?

I was in 5th grade. I popped in the Halo CE disc into the massive, clunky first generation Microsoft Xbox, and wrapped my small hands around the controller that was almost too big for me. Little did I know what I was getting into.

10+ years later, I still look up to my childhood hero, Master Chief, while everyone talks about He Man and Spongebob haha

In the order:

1. You vs the councilors

2. Councilors vs. Tartarus

3. Beam rifle elites

4. Needler elites

5. Tutorial

Question: How do you have the time for this, with school, work, etc?

Guess this means I don't have to worry about Tartarus disappearing. Great!

Well, OCD makes it difficult for me to concentrate (there's also social problems) so I've enrolled in an internet school. And until next Friday, I'm done with my school work so I can relax and take my time off.

Btw, should I make sword Councilors or beam rifle + carbine Councilors? Or fight all 3?

Ok, I got like 35 Councilors with swords (nearly all of them are cloaked) + 7 sword Zealots. All this with most of the usual stuff: 4 Hunters, 2 Spectres, 1 Wraith, Rtas Vadum, 2 non-sword Councilors

Betraying them means the end of me (you should see the damage from 10-14 Elites with various weapons. It's scary. If I betray them, I'll be dead within seconds. I'll be running scared). But sending them at Tartarus means the end of them.

Plus, I am at my breaking point because my hard drive is nearly overfilled. I had to sacrifice some films (mostly some old H2 ones and my Reach Legendary videos). And I'm also thinking about getting rid of some H3 films...

Just load everything onto disk and you'll have them forever. If you do that once a week or month or so, your HDD should not have that burden. Your seek time should triple if you get rid of all the wasted gigs.

I've run out of those. I used up like 150 on movies.

I've got 10 disks of all my stuff and yet I never go back and look at them. It's just nice to have them off the HDD.

Alright, I'll start backing them up. Right now, I'm using VirtualDub to make the files more manageable. I've had Halo 2 paused for like 7 hours because of this cleanup. My army is starving!! :o

Ok, I'm almost done with VirtualDub.

So I've got 36-37 cloaked sword Councilors. But fighting them is a no no, a very, very big no. I'm not going to jeopardize 4 hours of hard work and hiding just to get killed in seconds. I'd be shredded. Besides, even this is enough to give me a heart attack. And I already got 11 cloaked sword Zealots on Tartarus' platform.

37+11=48 Elite assault on Tartarus. I also had Rtas Vadum but he dived off and the 2 Councilors I had brought are also gone. :( So I had about 52 Elites (I also killed off some Spec Ops Elites so I had about 56 Elites).

Anyways, I've also stopped further Elites from spawning (at least I believe I have) so the particles shouldn't be a problem.

So what should I do? Unleash them or try to get a cutscene with a bunch of Zealots in it? Ultimate battle or impressive cutscene?

Wait a minute, that's a tough one. Too much responsibility for me, just flip a coin or something and do either one if you can't do both.

But I'm broke!

Besides, I don't want to take chances. This is a chance of a lifetime (well, it's something I don't want to do again. I made 3 attempts yesterday and died or messed up the first 2 times).

I'm just going to try something out and get back to you guys.

Ok, I failed 3 more times.

Turning on Assassins skull is not good for Elites vs. Tartarus fight.

So I started over again. I easily got around 20 Councilors within 1 hour 30 minutes but I fell to my death because of that -blam!- Keyes.

So I started over again. This time, I couldn't even get more than 10 Councilors by 2 hours. So I betrayed them. With Sputnik on, it's still easy to fight them.

So I finally quit. This is too painful. Too much work like meleeing dead bodies, brute shotting dead bodies, meleeing Elites places, etc. If there was a cp, this could take like 1 hour. Instead, it takes up to 2 hours just to get around 25 Councilors.

At least you gave it you best shot man.

I've been sifting through your youtube channel, and all your stuff is golden. What I'd reeealy like to see is a comparison of AI battles across all Halo games.

I'm thinking, your masterpiece of AI spawning on AotCR with Marine efficiency turned all the way up (and you taking no acting at all or helping, just AI on AI), and to see this from Halo CE all the way to Reach or H3 (ODST? Haven't seen any of your work on that), to see if Bungie really did tone down the AI or not.

In my opinion, the marines in CE were the best. What do you think?

Yeah I did. A really good point. But today, thanks to Grumpy's encouragement, the tenacity this Halo 2 community demonstrated, and the support of the people who post on my videos, I have given it another go. And I got 38 Councilors with swords. :')

Add the 2 Councilors I brought with me and I have a total of 40!! :D I'm so excited that I'm going to upload one huge preview of my setup and army!! Annotations like I did with my Two Betrayals video. And then the complete tutorial.

Anyways, thanks! Comparison? I could do that (except for Reach. I don't have my hard drive and I've run out of DVDs to download the demo to).

AotCR? I'm thinking of Two Betrayals, because I've been working on that a lot and I could easily swap the Flood with marines (and improve them). I don't have ODST anymore. And I never got the chance to upload anything because I didn't have a video capture device (IIFC). Well, generally speaking, in bigger numbers, marines are good enough to be entrusted with tasks.

I agree that CE marines are the best. The best part is that they don't drive vehicles other than Ghosts.

Alright, I've finally done it. I've assembled an army of 61 Councilors!!!

I've stopped further Elites from spawning and Johnson is taken care of for the moment. I have 2 Spectres, 1 Ghost, 1 Wraith, and 1 Banshee. I have Rtas Vadum, 2 extra Councilors, and 2 Spec Ops Elites from the beginning. Keyes as well as the 4 Hunters have been overloaded but Tartarus didn't disappear.

Should I

A) unleash my army on Tartarus
B) line them up in rows
C) get them to turn on me and die by their swords, run for my life, or fight against them in vain
D) make them dive around
E) splatter them
F) get to know each one
G) jump on their heads
H) [insert your choices here]

?

I'll be sleeping soon so I'll finish this up later today.

Holy crap haha, you have to go with option A. But could you somehow make it so that when they make the jump to tarturus, they don't fall off the edge like idiots?

It'd be like seeing all your hard work going to waste, considering that when they make the jump, they usually push each other aside causing their comrades to fall.

Ha ha, Occupy would be great, you could have them on the upper platform milling about and add text slogans against the Profits and the Brutes and such. "Down with Greedy Profits" and "Brutes are corporate zombies" and stuff.

I just saw your latest 57 vid, one of the best I've ever seen. It was pure fun to watch, full of win.

@IIPhalanXII If I go with option A, it means the Elites will be sent flying by Tartarus' hammer because Sputnik was on. But don't worry about them jumping to their deaths. There's nothing in their path this time.

I'm pretty sure they go 3 at a time so they don't push their buddies off. But if this is the case, I don't know if I'll be able to find a way.

@BouncedMr happy There's not enough to occupy the current location and sending them to Tartarus is too risky. But I can move them into the room with the fins.

@Grumpy1 The upper platform would be very difficult because I'd have to push Tartarus off after making sure the Elites have seen him so they jump off and make sure he doesn't go back into the lift. He typically goes back into the lift if I'm on the middle platform uncloaked or flying around in a Banshee above it. Text slogans? Corporate? I think I know what you mean. Corporate take over using my army!!! >:D Every business in the world will forfeit their money at the hands, er, swords of my warriors!!

Thanks Grumpy! 41 Elites at that time was impressive. But you have to see 61. Now that I think of it, although there's not enough to fill the entire room, I could get them in a huge line that could go on forever!!!

I meant the platform where you spawn, heh, I should have just said that.

What if you got enough Elites to make Tart go away, then you could have all the Elites you want on the main fight platform and in the cutscene?

Also, that long line of Elites idea would be killer if you have the time to do all that.

Well it's too late unfortunately. I was trying to get a screenshot and somehow I fell through the ground or wall to the burnt room and died.

Unfortunately, that is impossible because I only got 1 wave at a time. However, if I made a weapon pile by picking up a weapon and preventing it from disappearing, then I could overload Tartarus. I once made a huge needler pile and it took me about 10 minutes to get rid of it.

Furthermore, if Tartarus is gone, the cutscene cannot happen and the Elites will have no motivation to jump unless I betray them and go to the main platform.

Well, yes Tartarus needs to die but it should be possible to make him re-appear by getting rid of some of the overload. Oh well...

But what happens if the overload has already disappeared?

Not so fast. I'm just reattempting it and I've shortened the time with an even better strategy: the Wraith!! Turns out the Spectre might not even be necessary for this. All I got to do is get some Councilors stuck behind the Wraith and then blam, when I send the others to their deaths, the Councilors get in the Wraith and lose their interest. :D:D:D

Here's what I mean. They don't always go in the Wraith though (as seen in the video). I suspect you have to kill an Elite to motivate them to do so. If you try that, then one will go in and you can get him out and the next one will go in.

Also shown in this video is how I spawn the Elites. I believe the direction you look at during the ride is crucial to this. At 0:02, you'll notice there's only 1 Zealot. At 0:05, I leave the crosshair at the gravity lift (this is after the platform passes Johnson's ledge). I find this to be the best way to get more than 1 "wave" of Elites to spawn.

During the time the platform goes around, I just watch tv (penguins :3, Spongebob) or take a break (if the Elites spawned infinitely without the need to get rid of the previous ones, then I could leave the game running and go to sleep and wake up to find 100 Elites or a very glitchy game. :P) Then I return some seconds later and check to make sure it's working. As of now, I have 20 Councilors and it only took me an hour. It could have taken me even less if I had figured out the Wraith strategy before I began.

And here's the initial setup.

Now that you guys know how to set it up and how it works (or at least, the easiest and fastest way I know of), all you need to do is bring the required vehicles into the control room (a tutorial will be available for that soon) and then you can have your very own army!! :D Getting an army of Elite Spec Ops is very easy but Councilors are rarer and they're more fun to lead.

Finally, my 61 Councilors army. I use the Needler on Johnson to stop further Elites from spawning.

Edit:

Ok, scratch what I said about the Wraith. It isn't needed for this and it's actually a bad thing because if there's enough Elites next to it, it will disappear!! I think I now know what's going on. The Elites have the golden touch!!! Only they make things disappear. D:
