So 12 weeks to make, and then another 12 weeks to port to the iPhone ... WTF are these guys doing?!?
What happened to the 'great resources from aerospace'?

Or was this the master marketing play?
If so it aint going to fly on the mobile market.
You shouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions.

They were waiting for the announcement of the new iPhone, which turned out to be the iPhone 4S, so they wouldn't come out with something, and have it not work for the next platform or not implement one of the new features for the phone a couple of weeks later after they released it. Which I guess was a good plan if something happpened, but it turns out for games, there was nothing really implemented for the new iPhone to make games that much more fun. It runs pretty much the same other than the fact it has a CPU that is twice as fast, which can help the performance of the game.

Not to mention they were also creating and testing Episode 3 and probably doing planning for the future.

From Harebrained twitter:

"Nothing to announce yet here! Still waiting on that iPhone 5 announce too... fingers crossed for October though."In response to a question for Crimson of the iPhone. They were waiting for the iPhone 5 release.

Plus it would have been stupid to lock it into new model features ... "we have release the re-vamped CSP, but you have to upgrade your phone for it to run" - lol.
Dont think any app developer would be that short sighted.
I never said anything about that they were going to develop it only for the next iPhone. Not once did I say that. I just said they wouldn't want to write a bunch of code for the next iPhone for it to not work on the new iPhone. Then continue to spend more time developing and changing their code for the next iPhone after they released it for iPhone.

If you knew anything for iOS development, you can develop different platforms for different iOS devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and different generations of each). If there was a new feature for the next iPhone (which nothing really happened), they can incorporate features specifically for the new phone, and not implement for other platforms. That's what I was saying.

You need to stop reading what is not there. You are jumping to conclusions by what I am saying.

I'm a developer for iOS. No one recieved any iOS 5 SDK Beta for the iPhone 4S till the iPhone 4S/iOS 5 press conference, including HBS. They don't get anything early because they are an Indie developer. Only people that get anything early are big time official iPhone developers, like the Angry Birds guys. Look it up.

"Happy to provide some links if you want to detail some particulars."

I showed the twitter message above from HBS themself above, saying they were waiting for the iPhone 5 until they release anything for the iPhone. If you need anymore proof, then I don't know what more you need considering it's a message directly from HBS. It's not my choice what they did. They decided to wait for the announcement of the next iPhone before developing for it. That's what they went with. Proof above.

This game is probably better suited for you.

All sound great ... except CSP was developed using Moai, and much of that done on Windows workstation (yes, its a cross platform tool - authoring on Windows).
But being the 'iOS developer' you would know this.

If you want to "Look it up" you can even find some cool videos showing CSP running on Windows and an iPhone, and dated prior to November.
(and yes, the HBS contained your exclusive link on its web site before they the tweet was made).

So unless HBS took a fork of Moai, and in that process messed up the cross platform by introducing some iPad only functionality - testing should be down to real estate layout.

So back to my point. Took 12 weeks to build the entire game, on an existing cross platform toolset (and developed on a PC environment). And yet we have testing taking another 12 weeks??

Or a simpler reason ... someones idea of a marketing plan.
More conclusions.

Never said they weren't developing for the iPhone 4 and 3G (not the iPhone 4S) or on other platforms, I just said they weren't going to release anything till the new iPhone came out.

I don't know why you are even talking about the Moai engine. Just because they used an pre-made engine doesn't mean they don't modify it, they still had to write code to optimize it for iOS and whatever they are developing for (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and their generations). Someone at HBS had to program on a Mac using the iOS SDK. Plus, even if they are developing on a Windows environment (I've yet to see proof that they did), they still developed for the iOS platform either way you look at it.

First off, I'm just going to point out problems in your logic. Basically, you use proof of web pages of what they did do, and assume everything else simply did not happen

LOL ... you are priceless, honestly.
So someone provides proof of WHAT HAPPENED ... but because they cannot prove what DIDNT HAPPEN you are upset.

Just how does one proves the absence of proof ... If proof is provided then it will exist and again not meet your criteria?!?

Plus, I quoted you before you edited that link in, and I didn't see it till mentioned it in your post. (You concluded that I deal with my problems by editing them out, just saying)

This is another example of your priceless logic.
The posts are actually datetime stamped ... so here we have the linked post stamped "11.13.2011 8:05 AM PST" and then we have your reply stamped "11.13.2011 8:31 AM PST". Even YOU (the iOS Developer, mmm) could figure out that his post was 26 minutes before yours.

So how exactly did he edited that link in.
There for everyone to see.
