hey llok I personaly don't care if the pistol or AR are in halo 2. But if they are I only hope they powerdown the pistol a bit and take it's zoom. The pistol is only loved because people use to get cheap kills, they become profishant wiht it alone and there for throw off the gameplay balance. I personaly love the AR, usei it in Multiplayer all the time and win with it...

Want a true test of your halo skill. Beat halo on Legandary using only the AR, I've done it and kudos to anyone else who can.

Sorry, mis-read what I wrote: I meant "The army replaced the m16 with the M4 for mechanized units" not "the army is replacing the m16 with the m4 and mechanized units already have them" or what every I posted.

I need to learn how to do the qoutes thingy.

BTW. The pistol is overpowered.
I don't care what they give me to kill with in H2. They can give me a potato gun and a middle finger. Im still gonna go out and buy it for 54.99 (ooohhhh limited edition), most likely 2 times, and Im still gonna love it.

Unless bungee screwed up, in which case not much is going to matter anymore because iM going to kill everyone. Yes, everyone. with a potato gun and my middle finger.
Now: You know the hole, the one you put pie in?
Shut it. ;P

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

Excuse me Dee, but you are correct. Wasn't in a good mood when I did that post. Also, thank you again for the correction, not sure why I wrote 'Units', when I kept saying.... 1st Infantry Division, etc. Also, while you are so right....my last point was the invasion factor. During peace time, the UNSC could probably get everything to everyone in less than a 3 months. I mean everywhere off world etc., my main point was that Earth is being invaded, the Covies are destroying whole cities, ,(infrastructure goes to crap), so distribution, and supplies would not be the same as in peace. Also though, something I need to remember, although this may hurt my arguement. Germany, considering the pounding we did to thier factories, them being invaded etc, they did manage to churn out a lot of weaponry and get it to thier people. So.....in a scearnios it is possible the UNSC could do this.

BTW. The pistol is overpowered.

if you havce read first strike, Will, Fred, Kelly, Anton and all the spoartand that were with Dr.Hasley got new guns. They had a new pistol that had 30% bigger rounds and basically took the elite's head off. I think the pistol should be a very limited weapon in the sense that there is a secret place for it and you have to find it. Thjen it would not be in abundance and if you get it, it would be a bonus. I think tnat would clear up the pistol controversery

Yeah, Im at work, so Im just in a general bad mood anyways. My bad.

I think they should create a super weapon that shoots grunts at high velocities. Just grab one, stuff it in there, and launch away.

"No! No! bad cyborg!!! No!!!!"

Well, if we're going old-school, then let's at least keep it in the Bungie-verse, please? What about PiD, the Marathon series and the Myth series? They all had storylines that affected the gameplay, and they are still being played. When was the last time you played some Doom?

you grossly misunderstood my point. which was: a rich and engrossing story is not necessary to have fun playing a game. the reason i mentioned doom/doom2 was because of their complete lack of story. but it was still very fun to run around and get scared and blow everything to hell and back (gameplay). what you seem to be commenting on is the re-playability factor of games that "...have storylines that affected the gameplay..." i'm sure the games you mentioned were quite fun (i have not played them as my pc has been obsolete for the last 8+ years), but try to imagine those games with a user unfriendly interface, horrible loading times, no user interaction, and unappealing graphics. all of these things (and undoubtedly more) sum up gameplay. and if you remove them from a game, you have nothing but an overpriced picture book. i believe someone at bungie said it best when he said: you can have the greatest game in the world, but unless you can nail that thirty seconds of fun (gameplay) it's not going to be good. that was a very rough summary or what he said, but you get the idea.

Hikaru, you are ignoring my post. Please answer to what I said. I encourage anyone else to respond as well, as long as they have a larger IQ than nikolai.

What do you mean balanced? Ugg, it makes no sense to me, I just want you to be quiet. The battle rifle rules, the pistol is ass next to it, and the assult rifle is ass anyway.

i always liked the assault rifle but i agree about the pistol.i never really liked the pistol and the battle rifle is very cool.

Ignoring your post? Hardly. Don't assume I ignore anything, because I don't. I take every little statement seriously no matter how comical it may be. Just the type of person I am.

As for gameplay being everything. I disagree still and I will disagree to my grave. Storyline keeps a game alive. It keeps me on it time and time again. Especially Halo's for some reason. Gameplay is just an addition that allows the story to continue. And the story is what allows the gameplay to accelerate and not get too repetitive.

But as it stands in my book story is more important than gameplay. Hell it was the books that really got me hooked to Halo, not the game originally. Sure I played it and had fun, but once I learned the back story to Halo, I was hooked.

Okay at the beginning of Halo, the PoA is in deep space...

Think about it. If the PoA is in deep space before it jumped to Halo, then maybe some changes hadn't taken affect yet. The military would implement the standard weaponry changes on earth 1st, then the rest of the ships, planets, etc ASAP. Just a thought.

The pistol was sweet, but if its not in Halo 2, i won't lose any sleep.

You've obviously never read First Strike. The Chief gets back in more than good time. There is no way those weapons could be done away with in such short time. Period. By the way the books directly coincide with the game. Bungie said so. ( that last bit is for anyone who wants to argue the " Books don't matter " point. )

Oh yeah so everyone knows I am done responding to this thread. It is just getting dumb with some of you, and possibly myself included by even bothering with an argument over a promise from Bungie that the old shall return.

(im talking about halo the game here, because in the books, a marine gets shot and pretty much dies where in game, a marine gets shot but lives, and for gun im talking about an AR)
The pistol can be a very cheap weapon. about 2-4 shots to the head is a kill. And from what ive seen, the pistol seems very unbalanced with this aspect.

but

why would the pistol seem so cheap? cuz you dont know how to play fps properly. If you run out in the open, you will very likely get sniped by a pistol or sniper rifle and die. But if you stick to cover, you shouldnt get taken out so easily. heck, you might find a sniper while your sneaking around the shadows and bag a player using a pistol/sniper rifle.

But i havnt adressed the balance of the pistol on the negative side have i? the pistol tends to take the longest time to reload. and you only get 12 or so shots per round. And it tends to be harder to snipe with a pistol if your eyesight isnt too good.

There shouldnt be a production problem with the gun what so ever. even if the BR is going to replace it, it is much more likely that the pistol would still be issued due to the close quarters combat of street to street fighting.
