Stop referring to Bungie as plural. They are one company. Only refer to them as plural when speaking about every individual employee; otherwise, it's really annoying.

E.g.:
Posted by: RigZ Boi
Bungie are a company first and foremost
is wrong. They are one company. However,
Posted by: Skibur
Why do Bungie make games?
is more correct. Each individual dev probably has a different motivation for making a game.

Gah. Bungie is singular no matter how you use it. Unless there are multiple entities known as Bungie that make games, it should be "Why does Bungie make games?" and "Bungie is a company first and foremost."

Key

Bungie is a company made up of many different people. Many. This makes the word "Bungie" a collective noun. Collective nouns are singular nouns that refer to a group of people (this meaning the contents of that group is plural). According to another post by another user in another thread (forget which thread and which user and I'm not going to look for it), the norm in England/Britain/the UK is to use verbs which would normally agree with plural nouns, also with collective nouns. If this is so, then so be it.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Collective nouns. Google it.

No, it is acceptable sometimes when used as a collective noun. There are few instances people use this correctly, however.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

Thank you.

What in their post was incorrect. And don't say all of it. Explain, if you would be so obliging.
