If someone attacks 11 groups with lemon party links and brags that Achronos can't do anything about him, what can the B.net community do besides kicking him out of groups one by one as he attacks them? I have blacklisted him 6 times myself but he enjoys all the trouble he is causing. He even pmed me and other members lemon party links.

  • 04.27.2006 8:31 AM PDT

Block him from PMing you and permaban him from the groups. Achronos could probably delete this person, but this person could probably just go ahead and create a new screen name and continue.

Anyone can be banned so that is BS. The problem is that he probably has several accounts. He is probably a misunderstood jackass.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Nah, I think jackass sums it up pretty well for him. No misunderstandings there.

well, can't achronos ban ip addresses as well? just a thought.

but yeah, just set the blacklist till the end of time, and do it in every group. Its long and tedious and people like that should probably be shot on site, but there's little we can do about it. If you want, and you should, complain to a mod or achronos, describing the situation completely, and see what can be done. If you work within the system, chances are everything will turn out better for you.

I have permabanned him 6 times now and he says he can get around IP bans and just create a new account.

Look at it like this, if he's a big enough loser that he's willing to make new emails and .net passports just to spam, then he's not worth a crap. Always check the link preview before clicking, and remember, it only takes 3 seconds to ruin 10 minutes of his work.

O_O you looked at your friends balls when "he" sat on your head O_o

i hate ppl like that, maybe he is the one who sent me a lemonparty link. Natedogr, ill PM about something, check ur pms, but please moderators, ask achronos to do something, cuz last time i remember, 3 80 year old men screwing each other has nothing to do with bungie studios and halo and anything any group is dedicated to. thanks.

The problem with IP banning is that most people on here go through internet service providers (aol, comcast, earthlink, most schools, etc) that assign their users dynamic IP addresses. Lazy for more info

Consider this: Achronos bans the IP of a particularly foul user. That user's ISP assigns him a dynamic IP address. The next time that user's ISP assigns a new IP address (sometimes all it takes is a reboot of the modem) to that user, he is no longer banned. That banned IP address then winds up being given to some other unlucky schmuck. If that unlucky schmuck is also a bungie.net user, then he gets banned through no fault of his own while the original foul user is free to access the site at will.

Simply put, banning IP addresses doesn't work with dynamic IP addressing

didn't think about that, good point imp.

Although if you become a ninja, maybe you'll find a way to reach through the internet and strangle somebody.

I will fight this and anyone else who does this on the group level. I will just have to permaban him or reject him in each group. Thank you for your help everyone.

Twitter | Nothing

If he joins any of my groups I will also perma ban him. The best thing we can do is to just ban him and ignore him, that way he might get sick.

If he joins mine, I feel sorry for him. My members will tear him to shreds. Those links mean nothing to them.

Yeah that seems to be the problem with the worst of them. They just won't take a hint and go away.

Always check the link preview before clicking.

*swoosh!*

One problem...he was using Tinyurl links...so it just looked like this:

Tinyurl.com/x76k3

So you couldn't tell what he was linking to...but of course...you would know not to click on things from him anymore!

take comfort in knowing that this is the extent of their pitiful existance.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Yeah its so much fun dealing with one ass with 30 accounts.

Where do these people find the time?

Just refresh you IP and you over that one.

A bios ban would be the best bet, except Bungie could have lawsuits up the wazzoo for that one. Being that its personal property, also its called getting a new bios or just using another computer.

The trick here is to ignore the culprit, because attention is what they want. Banning them helps too.
