Sometimes life leaves a $100 bill on your dresser...and it's not til later that you realize it's because it -blam!- you.

I could be mistaken but I'm pretty certain it is considered canon.

I am the God Emprah of Mankind.

Deal with it.

Anyone who says that Halo: Reach isn't canon is just butt-hurt.

Walk softly, and carry a big midget.

A lot of people don't wnt to admit it but it is canon.

I am...whimsical today.

As I understand it, games outrank books, and more recent publications outrank older publications.

So, if we're looking at the book, The Fall of Reach and the game Halo: Reach, then any conflicts between the two are automatically won by the recent game.

There are people that accuse the game of breaking canon, as The Fall of Reach was the first bit of Halo lore ever, and as such has been the basis of nearly all lore since.

Can anybody explain me? Some say it isn't, some say it is. Thanks!

The general rule of thumb is that anything that is revealed or comes from a game is the highest source of canon there is. So all the games are canon, regardless of whether the books agree with them or not.

Whether you think The Fall of Reach and Halo: Reach fit together or not is up to you, I think they fit perfectly, but there are those who disagree.

We should know better, because we are better.

Reach I'd canon and I am glad it is. Things like the Assembly help counterbalance the bad.

Well, I don't agree since there are big errors and they are all listed in one of the pinned threads . That's my opinion tho.

Not to start a flamewar, but some of the problems can be easily explained. The ages of Noble, for example. This could be easily justified by saying they spent lots of time in cryo as kids.

I like to think of the game as not canon as it was sooooo boring and didnt live up to what makes Halo. Book remains true canon in my eyes, and the eyes of many others.

Pretty much.

Yeah, sadly, it's canon.

People like to say it's not canon because of how horrible the story is (wow, I love how they explain how the Covenant built that giant ass tower in Reach, the heart of the UNSC... oh wait, they don't!), something I can comprehend.

But you know, blind fanboys all over the Universe Forum, what can we do? Doesn't helps that 343i supports the game as being part of the canon instead of doing something logical and actually say "yeah, just ignore it, our bad, we are sorry".

Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

Yes it is, even though it retcons lots of stuff without any explanation whatsoever.
