Halo Reach, just saying the name might give you a jolt of joy or anger. This game came out 9/14/10 and I remember being outside, in the cold at Midnight waiting eagerly to get my copy. I was thrilled at this game first couple of months playing. It had a well written campaign and a very new, but solid multiplayer with minor flaws that were fixed too late. But Reach in all was a pretty good game, the Campaign had you as Noble Six, a new personnel into Noble Team.

The Campaign was very extravagant as most Halo Stories are but it had a little bit more sadness within it as well. The Multiplayer at first was a striving, competitive community and the game added new ways for EXP use as in buying new armor, firefight voices and effects. It was brilliantly made, but many people started boosting most points and it almost seemed useless with being able to rack up loads of credits in just minutes. But back to the full multiplayer, it had a new way of spicing up gameplay with its new assassinations, new variety of maps, and most of all, armor abilities. These Abilities varied from just sprint to being on top of the world flying with the jet pack. It really changed the way people played Halo and for lots of people many abilities got on peoples nerves, like armor lock. This ability had people be able to go into a hard cored plasma shield that made the player invincibly with being able to become an EMP. This really pissed many players off so lots of people quit playing because of many different changes that Differentiates Reach from most to all halos that came out prior.

So in my opinion, the gameplay was solid and it was great and was brilliant, but they could have made it better, for example, bloom. 343i tried to change bloom to an 85% level or just have none of it at all, but it still gave many players the advantage by having them spam more and kill more. So in my honest review, I would give it a 6/10. All in all this game i really couldn't call a Halo. It was too different and it seemed to try to compete more with COD. So i think if Halo 4 should be good, 343, stick with the basic formula of halo 2 and 3. You shouldn't fix something that definitively wasn't broken!

well what i mean is just the actual game Halo Reach. Not with the new multiplayer and CEA. That i cannot wait for but this is just for what was on Reach and Reach only.

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

It is a good read OP, but some paragraphs will break that wall of text that currently frustrates your readers. Make it easier to read so that posters can take your post more seriously.

Also, the only reason why Halo: Reach lost another player (me, for the moment) is because I wanted to try something new (MW3). I still love Halo, regardless of it's unbalanced gameplay in some areas such as Armour Lock and the Banshee.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

You could have at least typed down paragraphs. I actually would have considered reading it.

And I totally agree with you. One thing I did leave out though was it seems like most of the game breaking problems was not really the game, it was parts of the community

Problems I had and problems I know many of my fellow Halo friends had...

1) Matchmaking System (when someone quits the game balance is out the window - many of my friends as well as myself say this is the biggest issue... with my #2 being more like a 1b)

2) Armor Ability Loadouts (key point is that they were offered as Loadouts - minus Sprint for Spartans and Evade for Elite, the rest should have been used sparingly, select ones should have been placed on the map for pickup, just as equipment was used in Halo 3, Armor Lock should have been restricted to vehicular maps only and then there should have been only one on the map, IMO)

3) The amount of Bloom (some Bloom wouldn't have been the end of the world, but it got out of hand at times especially with the DMR - when you needed that one head shot to finish off an opponent you'd miss even though you had him targeted - it felt like the tripping that was added to Super Smash Brothers Brawl... why?)

4) The Banshee (indeed it did feel over powered when in the hands of a decent pilot. Here's a thought, what if they made it more like the old Halo 2 Banshee? - with no Plasma Blast in Multiplayer but with a better ability to maintain altitude for using the smaller plasma guns)

5) Maps (Not that there is anything particularly wrong with the maps provided, but most of my friends and myself were into playing the more open BTB maps in the past and other than Hemorrhage, and to some degree Highlands, there's definitely a lack of quality BTB maps - I thought that had the developers of designed more of the Firefight maps to be interchangeable with competitive matchmaking that they could have served as some decent BTB maps, but perhaps not)

6) ...IMO, this isn't really an issue or a problem, but some of my friends would have liked to of seen dual wielding remain.

You are a retard if you try to bring up this account's Reach playtime.

PM for actual GT.

Problems

Horrendous matchmaking. I should have never met these people in that playlist in the first place.

AAs were horribly implemented and maps were horribly designed for their playstyles. lolCage, lolReflection, lolCountdown, lolAsylum, lolSwordBase, hell, lol Every Reach map.

Bloom is ridiculously ineffective at preventing spam since autoaim causes the headshot to hit anyways.

Maps: Sword Base, enough said
