Subject: Attack on the Elites in Glasslands

Wouldnt it be cool if it was an entirely new race instead of Brutes or something? Im sorry but i just fail to see how Glasslands "expanded" on the universe. It kind of changed it, but not even all that much.

So, whos ready for something new???

It wouldn't make sense for it to be some new enemy. If it's the new Halo 4 enemy, then it ruins the surprise for Halo 4. It makes more sense for it to be Brutes because there is so much evidence to support it being Brutes.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

I think 343 said there were two factions that had yet to be unveiled.

If so, it's kinda stupid. There are so many factions already in play, it's pointless to add more.

I dont think it should be the Halo 4 enemy. That would be stupid. But rehashing old rivalries into the ground is going to make things stale, unless they develop new reasons for fighting. DAMN GOOD new reasons!

So you are implying that the Brutes wouldn't want to attack the Elites? The Elites and Brutes keep fighting until 2559. I mean, everyone praises this huge hostility between the humans and Elites even though it's based on a lie that the Prophets who betrayed them told.

But a conflict between two species, the Elites and Brutes, who never really got along and it exploded into a fullblown civil war is rehased?

Yeah, okay.

Im not saying that they wouldnt want to. It makes perfect sense for them to, and thats my point. Its too obvious! If we could all guess that, the cliffhanger has no purpose.

And yes, it is rehashed. The brutes and elites have been at it since halo 2 (when we knew about it). Its a conflict that i dont expect to end, but there should be more interesting conflicts to explore by now.

  • 11.11.2011 9:50 PM PDT

It's the Halo 4 threat.

You'll see.

Okay, so I guess we'll just throw in some unknown, uneeded new enemy instead of building upon the build up that suggests the Brutes are planning something in the book.

Yeah, it would be a curveball that no one would see coming. If done correctly, it might make things interesting again.

Hey, whats going to happen in the third installment?
Well, You can be sure to see some brutes fighting elites again!

Come on, seriously?

And yet it makes much more sense than shoehorning in some mysterious new enemy.

AKA, the most uninteresting and least popular conflict in the Halo universe.

No, in THE universe.

So because you think it's boring, it should be unresolved and not touched upon even though we know it's still an important point in the canon?

Of course, I wouldn't expect you to understand Ruby.

It shouldn't be featured heavily upon because it has the least depth out of all the rest. But it should be finished.

No, what needs to happen is that it should be collaborated with an even bigger arc, like the Reclaimer Trilogy.

At least it adds more depth to the game. O_o

Of course, I wouldn't expect you to understand Ruby.

Find a new catchphrase before this one gets stale.

Yeah, Halo 4.

And Glasslands connects to Halo 4.

TADAAAA!!

Nah, it suits you just fine. Perhaps if you actually read all of the books, you would understand the points those of us who have read them make. But I'm not going to hold my breath.

It makes more sense to loosely mention the new enemy in Halo 4 in the post-war series, show them in Halo 4, and then any books after Halo 4 can filter them in galaxy-wide.

And yet you never say WHAT connects the two. We know the Infinity is in the Halo 4 concept art and is mentioned in Glasslands. That may be it.

That's... kind of what Glasslands alludes to.
