Subject: I have ban paranoia.

It seems as though the ones who do suffer from ban paranoia or have become apathetic to receiving bans are the ones who repetitiously are banned.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein

If you do not know by now what responses or posts put you in that category, you either fail to learn or don't care about the consequences.
I'm totally apathetic to bans, but I still haven't been banned yet.

Your Einstein quote doesn't have anything to do with this either.
Those who are paranoid are because they expect to be banned, not because they don't learn. They do the same thing, post within the rules, and expect the same result, ban't.
Likewise, apathetic folks just keep doing what they're doing and don't care about the consequences. They don't expect anything because what happens doesn't make a difference to them. They aren't insane.

Neither category here is insane because of their view and history regarding bans, and the generalization is logically weak.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

I feel the same way. I don't want to get banned again for something I did unintentionally.

I disagree.
Many post knowing full well they crossed the line, but post anyhow and are hoping to not be detected and get away with it. Like you said "apathetic folks just keep doing what they're doing and don't care about the consequences" which is totally true. At the same time they have no room to complain, yet always seem to.

My point was to the op's view of "I just can't tell what'll get me warned/banned anymore."
It really should not be that difficult to figure out, hence the Einstein quote.
The theory here being;
'I did 'X' / I got banned.'
'I did 'X' again / I got banned.'
'I did 'X' again / I got banned.'
'I don't know what is getting me banned.'

That sucks. I'm not worried about being banned at all. :D

NO GROUP INVITES

From what i've found, as soon as you stop caring about gaining or losing a member title, bans seem to serve their true purpose. One cant allow the despair of "oh teh noes i'll never be a heroic member now!!!!" to overshadow the fact that they were banned for a good reason, and that they should learn from that mistake.

If you're about to post something and find yourself wondering if it will get you banned, simply don't post it.

This will completely solve your problem.

There have been times when the thought of me being banned for something I posted hadn't even crossed my mind, but I was still banned.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

I used to have it. It passes after the 8th-10th time.

My rule is that if I am not sure if I should post something I just hit the cancel button. It has treated me well.

Brainwashing, idiotic media: "hur dur, vido gaems cas vilenc n iz nt gud. dey ned 2 b baned."

Logic: Really? Then please explain how there's violence in third world countries. I guess they're all poor due to the large amount of video games they buy.

I get myself hit with a banhammer on purpose. Every few months, I'll just get an urge to make a thread guaranteed to get me a ban. Why? I don't know the hell why.

I just can't tell what'll get me warned/banned anymore.

I try to abide the rules, but it's sometimes bothersome when one mod may punish a user, while another mod may not. Some moderators view things differently, which is why I sometimes get my level-of-appropriateness messed up. I do feel I'm getting better, though. For example, my first, I don't know, two bans were for not encouraging discussion in a thread, and I don't receive those anymore.

Every day, before I get off, I constantly think "Did I do anything that'll upset moderators? Did I do anything offensive?"

I get so confused as to what's really "crossing the line" and what isn't.

Me too but unfortunatly I am banned after one post every single time. Look in my post history and you will find that I do nothing wrong. Its not from a mod though it from a bot. I feel like I am being hunted down and banned

I tend to not be a dick.

Pretty much this but I feel like I shouldn't have to do this. The rules aren't exactly clear on every topic and the fact that those vague rules are also open to interpretation by each mod makes it a guessing game if you ever post something "borderline". The mains aren't quite as interesting anymore because everyone always has to watch what they say in fear something might be taken out of context and they might get banned for "flaming" or "not encouraging discussion" or "spamming".

I mean don't get me wrong there are cases where people do spam or flame and should be legitimately banned but not everything needs to be taken that seriously.

If you're worried about being banned, just think like this:

1. You are an '11, it's not like you are getting any kind of title any time soon anyway, assuming you even care about something so pointless.

2. This forum is dead, use the gap between now and Bungie's next game to learn how to act on these forums, not that it is very hard.

It's not like it matters if you are banned, go to a different active forum in the meantime.

I've been here for two years. This is an alt.

One thing I need to clarify:

I don't give a crap about my title. Coup has made this obsolete for me.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

I admit, I worry as well, but at the same time, learning to have fun on here without breaking the rules proves to be a rewarding experience.

I haven't been banned yet, so I guess I'm doing something right.

"Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence."

I always do my best to post on-topic and abide by the rules, but every time I see I have a message, I expect a ban or warning.

Sometimes I feel like I want to type out a really cynical, rude/mean reply...so I do, but then I don't hit submit.
