So, I like Firefight. But, when I play over XBL, its extremely laggy. So I play Score Attack, but Score Attack doesn't have the gametypes I want. So.

If I play Firefight Doubles with an AFK guest, so I can play Limited, will I be banned?

Here's a good rule of thumb.

If you have to question it, it's probably not a good idea.

  • 11.12.2011 4:51 AM PDT

Try it.

  • 11.12.2011 4:52 AM PDT

I'd think so, But I don't know.

No? You're not boosting?

Again OP, if you have to question it, it's probably not a good idea. This goes for a lot of things in life, so best just learn this idea now.

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

Make sure the guest gets at least one kill so that the game doesn't think the guest is AFK boosting.

Which is stupid. If its a guest, what's the point of afk boosting? They don't earn cR -_-'

They should just make an HLG playlist then you guys can hide against each other and see how much fun it is.

I usually just play doubles with a guest, then I disconnect the guest.
I get full screen, nobody AFKs and connection is perfect.

AFK guests is bannable, and you can play FF offline and get credits too. My suggestion to "circumvent" the ban, since you're essentially just searching solo, would be to make sure your guest gets at least a few thousand points, then doing the impressive -blam!- on your profile while hoping the covenant doesn't notice your guest just kind of chilling out defenseless. If it was normal firefight where you have teams of 4, I would probably have to kill you.

AFK boosting is across the board bannable because of matchmaking- you can have two consoles, each with 3 guests, and enter rumble pit with a full party. Both real tags get 24 kills, a huge match bonus, and the guests die a lot, giving the real tags a high Cr count. I think bungie just applied a block banhammer to firefight rather than to specific modes of firefight, which is why you need your guest to get a few kills.

Everyone is entitled to their own wrong opinion.

I'm part of the Bungie.net Minecraft group/server called SeptaCrafters
We're a Bungie.net group that goes to our very own Bungie server. Most players are from the Halo community either off Bungie itself or through word to Halo friends.

Yes because its an AFK player, and you are linked to it.

Get someone to play on the guest. Even a little kid will get some kills.

You are boosting

Like it or not OP, AFKing a guest in FF Double is boosting. It's just boosting with yourself, which is still frowned upon.

Unfortunately, though you are not intending to boost, you are.

By having a guest AFK in Doubles Score attack, you are giving all enemies to yourself, ergo giving yourself more points.

Though I know you are not intending this, simply because of the way it is going through the system, you may be flagged.

with all do respect, that is probably the dumbest thing i have ever heard in my entire life. with that kind of attitude, what is the point of trying?

  • 11.12.2011 11:11 AM PDT

don't listen to these guys, having an AFK guest a perfectly acceptable and doesn't get you banned.

"if you have to ask then it's probably bad" is a retarded statement, curiosity will make you want to ask, you are unsure if it is bannable or not when it isn't so you feel the need to ask to make sure you are not in the wrong.

And thats fine. There are some things that this doesn't apply to. And by some I mean very little.

Trying things is fine. If the OP wants to get banned for it, then thats fine by me, one less person in the community.

Im just looking at both sides here. The only thing is, getting flagged is the vast majority.

Im glad you feel that way con, no need to -blam!- on my opinion.

Ill make sure I think twice before backing you up next time.

It's not just that. The banhammer can tell in FF matches. It's gonna take a relative amount of kills or the game will think you went AFK. A single kill I don't think is enough.

Sounds good to me. How many times have you done it? Have you ever gotten a warning or a ban?

Why is it frowned upon? If they just put Limited into Solo Score Attack..

Good question. I cannot answer that.

The only advice that I can give to you, is to get your Guest a kill or two each game you try this.
