343i Was debating on which engine to use for CEA back when the game was being mapped out and the ideas that 343 had made were available to use via the internet. After a long thought out process, they decided to continue using the Reach engine because Reach was basically a much newer game and they felt that they didnt want a split between Reach and CEA. Basically. How do you feel about that?

343i Had choices on which engine to use for the multiplayer and they chose Reach? Knowing how much this community despises the Reach ASPECTS (not always the game itself,) I don't know if 343i made a really thought out choice. See below.

Halo CE for Multiplayer
If they would have used the original CE engine for the multiplayer, we would have had plenty of issues if they would have only of hopped the graphics up. Between the three shot pistol, the overpowered nades, and a few other issues; we wouldn't had been able to live on as a community. However, if they would have just fixed a few things like the power of the pistol, nades and possible some map tweaks, then we would have been fine.

Halo 2 for Multiplayer
A lot of people who have played or even just seen Halo 2 at it's best online gameplay would agree that Halo 2 is by far one of the greatest games to ever hit planet earth because it changed LIVE and how we use it to this day! Imagine if they would have used the Halo 2 code? I wouldnt like it. I think Halo 2 is one of my favorites and everything, but "CEA" and "2?" No. It just doesn't mix.

Halo 3 for Multiplayer
Once again, we're back to CEA and Halo 3. It just doesn't make sense. I feel however, that Halo 3 should have been used for the code because it was the most favored game (from what I have seen.) Nothing needed to be fixed.

So... Yup. Opinions?

Your presence here is quite unneeded. Begone you!!!

Reach engine works just fine. Wished the background wasn't as tacky though. Oh well

I see. It was suppose to be dramatic actually. Just to get the point across.

Cryengine 3 would have been a excellent choice.
Need I say more?

What makes me laugh is that people don't realise that Halo 4 is being created using the existing Halo engine.

OT I think it's best to keep the Halo CE feel so using the original engine was a great idea IMO.
