thats because people who uses keyboards and mice have better advantages than people with controllers. my suggestion: get rid of your controller, and start playing with keyboard and mouse. your speed and aiming rate will go up dramatically.

That's because everybody else is using the keyboard and mouse, and you're using a gamepad, so it only makes sense that they would own you badly.

Follow Ipjuunin's advice, it will help you out. Anybody can get through Legendary with a gamepad, but multiplayer is a different story, where your enemy can be just as smart and dangerous as you are. Achieving victory against other human players is a challenge enough, don't make it harder on yourself, and start using the mouse and keyboard.

Without going into depth of how the keyboard and mouse is superior to the controller, I'm just going to say that I can understand if you're struggling with the mouse and keyboard. Most console players do. But practice and you won't even look down at the keyboard to see what you're doing. You may think it's an awkward and complicated task, but eventually it will become a second nature. In fact that's not the correct way to put it, you'll wonder how you ever played games without it.

also take into consideration that most people you play against have beat the game on legendary as well and play the game all the time so they are like 4 times harder than anything you fight on legendary...

Yes, because they're going to be unpredictable and dangerous. If you tried to use a number of tactics in the campaign you would find them quite obsolete or useless in multiplayer.

Like the needler for example. It's a great weapon that can easily take out Elites, but on multiplayer anybody can dodge it.

OMG! You're kidding, right? I played the game through once on normal, tried multiplayer and never went back!

Campaign and Multiplayer have absolutly nothing to do with one another. The skills you need to take out the Flood are never needed in Multiplayer, and you'll never find an AI as good as a human.

The other point you guys are missing is that there is no lag in the campaign. On multiplayer you have to lead your shots for them to hit. Practice shooting just in front of where the enemt is going. When you hear a beep and his shields flare you will know you hit. You can then judge how far you have to lead to connect with your shots.

The fact is that aiming with the whole hand instead of just the thumb will increase your accuracy. I generally find it easier to move the mouse exactly where I want it instead of trying to move one stick with just my thumb.

In my oppinion the reason you get owned on multiplayer is simple:

Campaign mode... Artificial inteligince.. Doesn't really learn, same tactics, repetitive (mostly)

Multiplayer... You're facing actual people, human beings who can think for themselfs, adapt and learn, be cunning and some times sneaky. They know what weapons do the job of finishing you off.

End of the day.. A.I vs the human brain? You do the math lol.

Although i do believe keyboard is an advantage but fighting A.I then thinking you can fight against fellow humans who already have the skill you have and probably more and know what to expect and how to counter-act against it.. There's a lot of difference =-)
