That site, in particular, is (or was) fake. Podophobia Entertainment is an actual thing; I've never disputed that.
When the site had the timer, that was a hoax. I don't know whether or not Bungie/Podophobia has taken that domain back, though. From the looks of it, it's looking more official than a silly timer that's been used several times over for the fake Aerospace sites.

Have you ever noticed that Podophobia entertainment actually owned the "Destiny" and "Be Brave" logo and trademarks. On August 9th those where transferred over to Bungie. Urk said that it was not Bungie before the 9th of August, which was true because Podophobia owned it then. Have you ever noticed that every time it comes up now he never shoots it down? That is because they own the trademarks now and cannot say it isn't theirs.
I've shot it down several times. I don't have time to play whack-a-mole. We're dark, and we don't do countdowns anymore. ;) Also, this comment by him. he didn't say it wasn't them, he just said he shot it down, he wasn't shooting it down.
Makes sense doesn't it.
A WHOIS lookup of the website shows it is registered to Lime Protects, a company that offers a service to hide the real owner from WHOIS searches. In other words, there is no way to know if Bungie (Using as an example) or someone else owns the Podophobia Entertainment website. I don't know why some guy would go through all the work of buying a domain, making a flash movie and get the domain details protected by a professional company would do it just for the fun of it. Unless it was Bungie related.
